3. John Winston Lennon was 16 when he
founded a music group in Liverpool. The group
was called “The Quarrymen”.
The 15-year old Paul met John in 1957 and
showed him how to tune his guitar. Some days
later, John asked Paul to join the band.
George Harrison was also a student
and Paul's friend. He was a good guitar
player. He auditioned on a bus and
John invited him to join the band too.
4. Stuart Sutcliffe was John's friends. He could not play
the bass guitar but he could buy one after selling
one of his paintings. He became a member of the
band in 1960.
In 1960, after various names, the group finally
changed its name to “The Beatles”.
A few days before leaving for
their first tour to Hamburg, in
Germany, they finally found a
drummer, Pete Best.
5. Stuart fell in love with a
German girl and decided to
leave the group and dedicated
his life to painting. They were
no longer five. Paul became
the bass player of the band.
When they went back to Liverpool they
started playing gigs at the Cavern Club.
6. At the cavern they met a man who would change
their lives forever: Brian Epstein.
HELLO LITTLE GIRL
Hello little girl,
Hello little girl,
Hello little girl.
When I see you every day,
I say, "Mm-mm, hello little girl"
When you're passing on your way,
I say, "Mm-mm, hello little girl"
When I see you passing by,
I cry, "Mm-mm, hello little girl"
When I try to catch your eye,
I cry, "Mm-mm, hello little girl."
(Hello~)
I send you flowers
But you don't care.
You never seem to see me
Standing there,
I often wonder what you're thinking of,
I hope it's me
And love, love, love.
They sang for him
Hello Little Girl.
So I hope there'll come a day
When you say
Mm-mm, you're my little girl, mm-mm-mm.
You're my little girl, mm-mm-mm.
You're my little girl, oh yeah.
You're my little girl.
Do-do-do-do-do
7. Brian Epstein was a music manager and the band signed their first
contract.
He worked very hard to make
them a successful music group.
But a manager of the music
company which wanted to produce
their music didn't like Pete. He
wanted a better drummer.
8. So Brian called Ringo Starr who
knew the other members of the band.
Ringo replaced Pete.
Brian also helped them to change their look: suits and ties instead
of leather jackets.
9. Paul and John wrote the songs.
Their first single was Love Me Do.
PLEASE PLEASE ME
Last night I said these words to my girl
I know you never even try, girl
Come on, come on, come on, come on
In November 1962 they recorded
Please, please me, woah yeah, like I please you
You don't need me to show the way, love
Please Please Me.
Why do I always have to say, love
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Please, please me, woah yeah, like I please you
I don't want to sound complaining
But you know there's always rain in my heart
I do all the pleasing with you,
It's so hard to reason with you
Woah yeah, why do you make me blue?
Last night I said these words to my girl
I know you never even try, girl
Please, please me, woah yeah, like I please you
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Woah yeah, like I please you
Woah yeah, like I please you
11. In 1963 they performed in front of the Queen.
FROM ME TO YOU
Da da da, da da dum dum da
Da da da, da da dum dum da
If there's anything that you want
If there's anything I can do
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love, from me to you
I've got everything that you want
Like a heart that's oh so true
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love, from me to you
I've got arms that long to hold you
And keep you by my side
I've got lips that long to kiss you
And keep you satisfied (ooo)
If there's anything that you want
If there's anything I can do
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love, from me to you
To you
To you
To you
12. For our last number I'd like to ask your
help. Would the people in the cheaper
seats clap your hands. And the rest of
you, if you'd just rattle your jewellery.
13. TWIST AND SHOUT
Well, shake it up baby now
Twist and shout
Come on, come on, come on, come on baby now
Come on and work it on out

Come on and work it on out
You know you twist it little girl

14. In 1964 the band went on tour in the United States. It was a
huge success.
I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND
Oh yeah, I'll tell you something
I think you'll understand
When I say that something
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
Oh please say to me
You'll let me be your man
And please say to me
You'll let me hold your hand
You'll let me hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
And when I touch you I feel happy inside
It's such a feeling that my love
I can't hide, I can't hide, I can't hide
Yeah, you got that something
I think you'll understand
When I feel that something
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
15. I SAW HER STANDING THERE
Well, she was just 17,
You know what I mean,
And the way she looked was way beyond compare.
So how could I dance with another (whooh)
When I saw her standin' there.
Well she looked at me, and I, I could see
That before too long I'd fall in love with her.
She wouldn't dance with another (whooh)
When I saw her standin' there.
Well, my heart went "boom,"
When I crossed that room,
And I held her hand in mine.
Well, we danced through the night,
Oh, we danced through the night,
And we held each other tight,
And we held each other tight,
And before too long I fell in love with her.
And before too long I fell in love with her.
Now, I'll never dance with another (whooh)
Now I'll never dance with another (whooh)
When I saw her standing there
Since I saw her standing there
Well, my heart went "boom,"
Since I saw her standing there
When I crossed that room,
Since I saw her standing there
And I held her hand in mine...
17. TICKET TO RIDE
I think I'm gonna be sad,
I think it's today, yeah.
The girl that's driving me mad
Is going away.
She's got a ticket to ri-hide,
She's got a ticket to ri-hi-hide,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
She said that living with me
Was bringing her down yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
She's got a ticket to ri-hide,
She's got a ticket to ri-hi-hide,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
I don't know why she ridin' so high,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
Before she gets to saying goodbye,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
She said that living with me,
Was bringing her down, yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
Ah, she's got a ticket to ri-hide,
She's got a ticket to ri-hi-hide,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
My baby don't care, my baby don't care. x2
18. Three of them were already married in 1966.
George wrote a beautiful song for his wife, Pattie .
SOMETHING
Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know
Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
19. In 1966, during an interview with a British
journalist, John Lennon declared that The
Beatles were more popular than Jesus.
When the interview appeared on American newspapers months
later, it was a scandal. People burnt records of the British group
and there were also death threats.
Brian Epstein was so worried that he considered cancelling their
future tours.
John Lennon had to apologize and explain that he didn't want to
offend religious people.
The Beatles started their tour in the USA
but some concerts were disturbed by
protesters.
20. Tired of stressful concerts and screaming or dangerous fans, The
Beatles decided to stop making live concerts.
Their last concert together
was on 29th August 1966
at Candlestick Park.
21. I WANNA BE YOUR MAN
I wanna be your lover baby,
I wanna be your man,
I wanna be your lover baby,
I wanna be your man.
Love you like no other baby,
Like no other can,
Love you like no other baby,
Like no other can.
I wanna be your man (x4)
Tell me that you love me baby,
Let me understand,

I wanna be your lover baby,
I wanna be your man.
I wanna be your man (x4)
I wanna be your man (x4)
22. PAPERBACK WRITER
Paper back writer (paperback writer)
Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It's based on a novel by a man named Lear
And I need a job, so I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
It's a dirty story of a dirty man
And his clinging wife doesn't understand.
Their son is working for the Daily Mail,
It's a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
Paperback writer (paperback writer)
It's a thousand pages, give or take a few,
I'll be writing more in a week or two.
I can make it longer if you like the style,
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
If you really like it you can have the rights,
It could make a million for you overnight.
If you must return it, you can send it here
But I need a break and I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.

26. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.
Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It's easy.
Nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
All you need is love.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
All you need is love.
It's easy.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
All you need is love (All together, now!)
All you need is love. (Everybody!)
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need
Love is all you need (x8)

session, Brian Epstein died.

But they carried on with their projects: a meditation journey to

Mystery Tour.
28. HEY JUDE
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better
And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah yeah
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, hey Jude (x4)
29. TWO OF US
Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone's
Hard earned pay
You and me Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
Two of us sending postcards
Writing letters
On my wall
You and me burning matches
Lifting latches
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
You and I have memories
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead
30. It was a difficult time for the group. George had an argument with
John about the way he interpreted Paul's music.
THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD
The long and winding road that leads to your door
Will never disappear
I've seen that road before it always leads me here
Leads me to your door
The wild and windy night that the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears crying for the day
Why leave me standing here, let me know the way
Many times I've been alone and many times I've cried
Anyway you'll never know the many ways I've tried
And still they lead me back to the long and winding road
You left me standing here a long, long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here, lead me to your door.
But still they lead me back to the long and winding road
You left me standing here a long, long time ago
Don't keep me waiting here lead me to your door
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
31. On the 30th January 1969 they played for the last time live on a
rooftop at Abbey Road.
GET BACK
Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it couldn't last.
Jojo left his home in Tucson, Arizona
For some California grass.
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a woman
Get back Jojo.
But she was another man
Go home.
All the girls around her say she's got it coming
Get back, get back.
But she gets it while she can
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Back to where you once belonged.
Get back, get back.
Get back Jo.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back Loretta
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
