This document contains a lesson plan for a third grade recycling unit. The unit will be taught over several weeks and focuses on identifying recyclable items, reusing or recycling items from home, and having students write and present about their recycling project. Materials needed for the introductory lesson include various household items that can be recycled as well as a letter to parents. The goals are for students to name and describe recyclable items, reuse/recycle at home, and write and present about their project.
