The tile works which were produced in Iznik became
most precious assets of the world museums.

3.  The most brilliant
period of Turkish Tile
art was between 15.
and 18. centuries. In
18. century its
production has been
stopped and
dissappeared without
leaving any written
document.Nowadays it
is produced by
traditional methods.

4.  İznik Tiles are made
on a very clean white
base with hard backs
and underglazed
decorations in a unique
technique.

5.  70-80 percent of an
İznik tile is composed of
quartz and quartzite. Its
beauty arises from the
harmonious composition
of three successive
quartz layers and a
paste-slip-glaze
combination which is
extremely difficult to
bring together.

6.  In İznik tiles, one can
observe colors
resembling those of
semi-precious stones
such as the dark blue
of lapis lazuli, the blue
of turquoise, the
redness of coral, the
green of emerald.

quality of the glaze on
the tiles absorbs light

Iznik Tiles are used in the most
important parts of mosques and
palaces and in the architecture
with its both physical specialities
and richness of design and
application.
