1) Occupational hand injuries are a major problem in Pakistan, accounting for over 10% of emergency department visits, compared to less than 10% in developed countries. 2) These injuries range from minor cuts and abrasions to amputations, and outcomes depend on the severity of injury and quality of treatment received. 3) Several interventions are recommended to address this preventable issue, including implementing safety protocols at workplaces, educating workers, establishing rehabilitation services, and improving medical care for injured workers.
