Important Information
Dear Erasmus Friends,
The truth is that we are all looking forward to your visit here. My students are really excited
about hosting your students – it will be a lifetime experience for them.
Anyway, there are a few things you should all have in mind when you get here because there
are a lot of things we will have to deal with. Therefore, coordination will help us avoid tricky
situations and delays.
Please, consider the following:
Sunday, 12th May
The Italians and the Spanish will arrive at Makedonia Airport in Thessaloniki and will
be picked up by Nektarios, our driver (mobile: 00306974471287) at about 13.15 - 13.30. He
will be waiting for you outside holding a placard writing WINGS. Then, the Finnish will be
picked up (I’ll inform you about the meeting point on Egnatia str, which is very close to your
hotel). On arriving in Trikala, the teachers will be taken to the hotel. Yet, one teacher from each
country will have to get on the bus again and accompany the students to Kalampaka
where the families will be waiting. Leonidas will be in Kalampaka and take the three teachers
back to the hotel (it is advisable that they have already left their luggage at the hotel just in case
there is not enough space in the car boot).
The German - Luxembourgish will have to take their students to Kalampaka. Kostas
will be there waiting with the families. Then, they will drive back to Trikala, leave the van outside
my house and Kostas will take them to the hotel.
The Polish will take the X93 bus from the Arrivals Level, between Exits 4 and 5
(https://www.athensairportbus.com/en/timetable/x93airporttokifisos.html).
They will get off at the bus stop LIOSION BUS STATION. The bus for Trikala leaves at 18:00. I
will be there as well. We will arrive in Trikala at 22.15 and the families will pick the students from
Trikala.
Monday, 13th May
Concerning your transport from Trikala to Kalampaka in the morning, I had two options:
a. Take the bus (3 euros) at 8:00 – the bus stop is near the hotel
b. Hire Nektarios (50 euros for the whole group), who can pick you up from the hotel
at about 8:20 -8:30.
6. 6
I have hired Nektarios because taking the local bus means getting up an hour earlier. Since
not the same number of people will be on the bus every day, I think the fairest way to pay the
fare is 10 euros per country (5 x 10 euros=50 euros). I hope you don’t mind.
Concerning your transport from Kalampaka to Trikala in the afternoon, you will take the
local bus. You will pay for the ticket – it won’t be included in the receipt I will give you.
Regarding the activities, the staff meeting and the poster creation will be held in parallel.
Kostas will be in charge of the students’ activity while the teachers will present the action
protocols for the prevention of violence in their schools. Unfortunately, the staff meeting will have
to be interrupted so that teachers can attend the presentation of the posters made by the
transnational teams of students and resume their meeting afterwards.
Tuesday, 14th May
I don’t know the exact time we will get back – it should be at about 8:30 depending on the
free time you need to have in the city of Ioannina.
Dinner is not arranged on this evening because, I guess, you will be tired after the day trip.
Perhaps, you would like to try the Greek fast food (pita gyros or souvlaki) as there are a lot of such
places near the hotel. Of course, if you want dinner to be arranged, it is no problem for me, so tell
me what you wish.
Wednesday, 15th May
The mediation activities will take up the whole morning. At first, there will be a theoritical
presentation on the concept of mediation and a demonstration of how it works by the Greek
students. After attending the theoritical part, teachers can have a syrtaki dance lesson and a coffee
break. Meanwhile, students in transnational teams will take part in workshops during which they
will be trained to act out stories according to the theory presented to them.
In the afternoon, visiting students will come to Trikala and we will all go on a walking
guided tour of the town.
Thursday, 16th May
On the way back to Kalampaka, we think it will be nice to stop at a beach café so that you
can smell the fresh sea breeze and enjoy the sea view. Dinner is not arranged on this evening but I
can arrange it if you want me to.

Saturday, 18th May
The depearture times written at the agenda have been chosen after considering your
desires. Of course, they can be changed if you want.
In Kalampaka, there are many souvenir shops. In case you want to do some shopping, you
can stay after lunch and take the next bus to Trikala.
In Trikala, shops are open from 09:00 to 14:00 every morning and on Monday, Wednesday
and Friday afternoons from 17:30 to 21:00.
Also, to make our communication easier during your stay here, I will add everybody’s phone
number in the Whats app group created by Maria in Italy. Please, download the application in case
you don’t have it.
Finally, here are our phone numbers – you can contact us anytime:
Georgia: +306942212675
Kostas: +306976551244
Leonidas: +306945597340
We hope you will all enjoy your stay in our country and we are looking forward to seeing
you again.
Lots of love,
Georgia, Kostas, Leo, Xenia and Vasilis (the headmaster)
