Roses are often a well used stereotypical
prop In romance films. They are often used
as a gift, and a sign of love. This type of
flower is most effective due to the colour red
which signifies love and passion.
3. Rings
Rings are often used as a sign of
commitment and marriage. This would
stereotypically be seen in in a proposal
scene, or a marriage scene. This signifies
love and a strong relationship. For
example its seen in the film the proposal.
4. Gifts
Gifts are usually used in films for special
events such a Christmas, valentines,
birthdays etc. As well as an unexpected gift to
their partner to show their love. Or may be
used as gifts to congratulate an engagement,
pregnancy, illness and so on.
5. Mobile Phones
Mobile phones in the more recent movies are
used, during conversations, arguments,
capturing picture and memories etc. This
may replace the tradition of sending letters in
older films such as the notebook.
6. letters
Letters were stereotypically used in films in the
past, before the introduction of technology.
Used to write each other especially if they were
far away. For example when in the notebook the
girl moves away, her boyfriend wrote to her
everyday for a year. They are also still used in
more recent films such as dear john, when he
goes away to fight in war and can only
communicate by sending home letters.
7. Musical instruments
Musical instruments for example a guitar is often
used in romance scenes, with one of the
characters singing to the one they love. Musical
instruments are often shown at weddings, talents
etc.
