2. Our song
choice
The song that we have chosen to use for our
music video and to base our idea around is Alone
In This by The Shape Of The Earth. We have
chosen this because it is a slow-pace song with a
climax that we could make effective within our
music video. The song is an indie-rock genre
which is the style that we kind of wanted to go for
as we all like this genre and this means that the
music video idea’s could be very varied and
doesn’t have to be certain type of theme within the
video, so no one knows what to expect.
3. Synopsis and codes
and conventions
Our music video idea is to have a girl travelling
alone around the country. We want the camera to
look handheld to show that she is by herself and
can make it look more effective and go with the
lyrics of the song. Alongside this, we want to have
some normal establishing shots and close ups to
help show characters and expressions to make the
viewers feel more for the music video and the
song. On her way she meets people that show her
glimpses of happiness but the main point of the
video is to show that she is always feels really
alone even when she’s surrounded by people.

Music video’s that we have watched in the
past have helped to give us the rough idea
for our video and some of the camera
angles they use have inspired us to use
them in ours too. We also have thought
about films that we have watched about
similar ideas which we think will look
effective in the way we want to shoot it and
link with the song.
