Welcome to the recruitment training. We have specifically designed this for faculty, and hope that you will follow along!
We certainly could not recruit future MIIS students without your support. In fact 80% of new students cited quality faculty as very important. Faculty have the professional contacts and networks necessary for recruiting new students. First and foremost, we want to recognize the fact that you are taking time out of your busy schedule to host or participate in a recruiting event. We understand that you will not have the answer to all questions. Please refrain from answering unless you are 100% sure. You can refer students to the Admissions office if you are unsure about the answer to any question.
Prior to the even, please pick-up materials from the Enrollment Office. These materials include language posters, brochures, view books, contact cards, pens, and Enrollment Manager’s business cards.
During your event, please save all receipts and record any mileage related to recruiting. Remember to never answer a question you aren’t 100% sure of, and follow the steps for engaging a student, which will be discussed shortly.
After your trip, the first step is to fill out an online trip report, which is linked in this checklist. Next submit the contact cards you collected to jakim@miis.edu; you can either take a photo of 4 at a time and email them, or email the contents of the cards as text. Then send all receipts and mileage related to recruiting to Alice Villemaire (alice.villemaire@miis). Your reimbursement will take 2-3 weeks from the time they are submitted. We require a trip report form and submission of contact cards before reimbursement.
Prior to the event, materials will be sent to the location of the event or hotel that you are staying at. You can expect MIIS to send you the following items:
Event details (date, time, location)
Directions to the event
Contact information for the event
Parking Passes (if available)
Materials: brochures, posters, contact forms (Note – return unused materials)
We have provided an example of how to set-up the table for a recruiting event. Please use this example when you set-up for your event. If possible, have a laptop or ipad with a MIIS presentation looping. You can locate the presentation on the site.miis.edu/recruit website. Once you are on the welcome page, click on faculty & staff, then click on resource
Here are tips on how to Engage Prospective Students:
REFER students to Admissions or an Enrollment Manager in regards to specific questions. Only answer questions that you know!
Encourage prospective students to complete a contact card (contact cards are available in the enrollment office). Each student must complete the address section on the form. This is important for the Enrollment Office to be able to enter the information in the database. You can also have students complete the “request more information” link on the MIIS website. A link has been provided.
The Monterey Institute website is a great resource for the admissions requirements. However this slide outlines the key components required for all prospective students that apply.
Online application
Statement of Purpose & Resume
it is important to note that the new Fisher MBA program has different requirements. The Statement of Purpose has been replaced with an Essay. If the student passes through the essay screening, he/she will have a face-to-face interview.

It is important to note that tuition is estimated at 36K with a total cost of yearly expense to be estimated at $55,186. Additionally, all students qualify for the merit scholarship once an application is submitted as long as they submit the application before the priority deadlines (May 1).
