Course book, cartoon pictures , chart.
Learning Process
The teacher enters the class room and greets the pupils and makes a good rapport with them. The teacher
shows some Cartoons to the pupils and asks questions like ;
What is the condition of Santa Claus in these cartoons?
Is it Xmas season and winter? How do you know?
What might have prompted the Cartoonist to draw such a cartoon?
Teacher collects free responses from the pupils. After the Cartoon reading done , teacher divides the class
into groups and allow the pupils to discuss about the Cartoon in groups.
The teacher makes the pupil to reach the word , GLOBAL WARMING and explain with the help of
chart.
Teacher says that we are going to learn a new topic about Global Warming.
Then teacher introduces the lesson “Make the Right Choice “on the black board. It is in the form of an
Editorial. Let us think about ‘What is an Editorial’?
Teacher says that I ‘m going to read the first paragraph of the lesson and introduce the difficult words.
Ravage- to badly damage something
Havoc- a situation in which there is a lot of damage
Foretaste-a sign of something more important or more impressive that will happen in the future
After that, teacher explains the meaning of the passage. Then teacher asks some questions like:
1. What is global warming?
2. What is an editorial?
3. To which issue has the world’s response being ‘feeble and half-hearted’. ?
Teacher helps the pupils to say answers correctly.
Teacher gives a group activity to the pupils. Teacher asks the pupils to write a slogan about global
warming. Teacher writes an example on the blackboard. Teacher allows time to write slogans and pastes
slogans on the walls of the classroom.
