Breaking Bread Project Analysis
During this semester's service learning project, I chose to serve at a community organization called
Church On Wheels, Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen. Every night Monday through Friday Breaking
Bread opens its doors to the community and provides a meal at no cost. Their mission statement is
simple: To carry the gospel of the Lord through feeding the hungry and helping those in need. With
this Christ–like love to His people, every night employees and volunteers come together to provide a
meal that does not only feed them physically but nourishes the soul of everyone that enters the
doors. Within the city of Midland, Texas you will find a diverse culture and community. Due to the
recent oil boom, many families found themselves struggling to put a meal on the table. Breaking
Bread saw the need in the community to open the doors every night to see that no one would go
hungry in our town. With a commitment to see that the poor and needy are served with the love of
Christ. On any given night you can expect to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the days that I served I worked with their head chef Mari and a small group of volunteers from
local groups. The agenda that day was cleaning and organizing the pantry and blessing closet, as
well as lending a hand in the kitchen. Every day they open their doors to volunteers at 3pm and we
work to prepare the dinner and help Mr. Robert and his wife Grandma Betty in the dining room.
Within the kitchen, duties range from food prep, clean–up, and serving people that come through the
line. In the dining hall, Grandma Betty runs a tight ship. We assisted her with prepping every table,
the drink station, and assisting people as they exited the line. As dinner progressed, we worked to
walk table to table picking up trash for diners, fellowshipping, and offer refills on their drinks.
Overall, my favorite portion of service is the dining hall. It is a blessing to serve others with a kind

Go here?: A Fictional Narrative
"Um, who's this?" I asked, even though it wouldn't take a genius to say who was on the other line.
"Harry." "And how exactly did you get my number?" I inquired and I could hear the smile that was
growing on his face. "I get things, Gray. It is what I do." God, it's like I can also see him shrugging.
Get what things? Phone numbers, or girls? I glared at myself, at my subconscious. "How do you get
things, Styles?" I glanced up at the door, knowing my father was probably going to emerge any
second. And I glanced again, feeling like I was having a "naughty" conversation, even though this is
the farthest thing from, I think. "I just do. Anyway, what are you up to this fine evening?" "Sleep."
Oh no, THE SQUEAK. "At six o'clock? Doubt it." He's even confident over the phone. I groaned.
"Okay, maybe not sleep." I sighed. "Then what are you doing?" He asked. "Nothing." I replied. Now
that Liz left, I am left in my boredom. "Good. I am doing nothing too. We should hang out." Blunt
much? Well, it's better than how I would ask a question like that. "Why?" I squeaked. "Because
we're friends, right?" I don't know. According to Liz we are "flirty friends". "I don't know, are we?" I
asked and finally my squeak subsided, for now. "We are." He confirmed. "Alright." "Alright?" He
repeated, sounding confused. "Alright, lets hang out." I breathed out nervously, trying to contain my
squeak. "I'll pick you up in fifteen minutes, yeah?" I nodded but remembered we're speaking

Descriptive Essay On Being A Waitress
It's always nice to go out to eat, order a nice meal that you do not have to cook and be served
everything you want. When going out to eat, have you ever thought about the person that is serving
you food, getting you drinks, and making sure you have a pleasant experience at the restaurant of
your choice? That person is a server. He or she is a waiter or waitress. I've gone out to eat a lot, and
I've always been a little curious what is like to be the person serving the food and not eating it. I
chose to research this subculture because I was so curious about it. I have some friends that wait
tables, but I hadn't really thought about how being a waitress involves so many things aside from
serving food. Waitressing is more about handling all different types of people, and learning to
multitask successfully than just serving food. When I go out to eat, I usually only notice if the
waitress or waiter is nice to me and my party. I make sure that all of the food and drinks come out
the way we ordered them, and I also pay attention to how the food tastes. When I started my
research and observation for this ethnography, I started to pay more attention the server when I was
eating at restaurants. I started to notice how many tables the server waited on, I noticed how many
times he or she had to take food back to the kitchen because someone thought it was wrong or not
cooked right, and I also noticed how unhappy he or she was when they left a certain table. I have

How to Prepare a Thanksgiving Dinner Essay
How to Prepare a Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate our joys with friends and family. Unfortunately, if you are the
person designated to cooking the holiday dinner, the joys can turn into complete and total fear. I'll
never forget the first time I made Thanksgiving dinner for twenty family members and friends. I
waited until the last minute to start and the dinner ended in a complete disaster. In the years
following that failure, I have learned that preparing a Thanksgiving dinner is easy...if you plan
ahead.
Eventually the day arrives when you are selected to prepare the Thanksgiving dinner. Don't panic.
With a few hours of planning, your dinner can be a complete success. The key to pulling off a

I believe that the menu is where your success will be ensured. Take your time and consider all your
guests. Be sure to be aware if someone is allergic to a specific meat or spice. Also, you probably
know what your family's traditions are, so plan accordingly. If your family's tradition includes
turkey and ham, try to keep to tradition as tradition makes everything go smoother. You can also add
side dishes to enhance the meal and try to start new traditions.
Most Thanksgiving holiday meals include the traditional turkey, ham and prime rib. If you are
having a large dinner party, I would suggest making all three. Preparing three different main dishes
can be difficult, but as I mentioned above, planning is everything. Remember, if you have a small
oven, you can always cook the ham a day in advance, roast the turkey on Thanksgiving Day and
save the prime rib for the barbeque grill while the turkey is cooking.
The next step in meal planning is planning the side dishes. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing,
Yams, Green Bean Casserole, Chili Casserole, Ambrosia, Dinner Rolls, Cranberry Sauce, Deviled
Eggs and an olive tray are our traditional dishes. Many of these dishes can be prepared in advance
so you have time to enjoy your guests.
The final planning stage of the dinner will be dessert. Thanksgiving Day just isn't the same without
the pies and desserts. My daughters are usually the ones in charge of dessert. Not only does relying

The Discovery Of A Stranger's Personal Space
Proximity can be defined as nearness in space, time, or relationship. There are many terms and or
phrases used to describe proximity such as personal space, soul space, bubble, comfort zone, too
close for comfort, grill, invasion of privacy, etc. In this assignment we were asked to invade a
stranger's personal space and record their reaction to this event. I went to a neighborhood Starbucks
and proceeded to invade the personal space of a stranger sitting at a table with his laptop. I also tried
talking within close proximity of someone just to see their reaction, but the results of the Starbucks
experiment brought about greater output. After church on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:16pm I
walked into the Starbucks located at 1830 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432. I walked up to
the counter and ordered a triple shot of espresso with 3 raw sugars, and a tall cup of ice with splash
of soy milk. Once I received my order I walked to the condiments table near the door and began to
mix my drink. I stirred the sugar into the espresso and then poured it over the cup of iced soy milk.
There was a man who appeared to be of Caucasian decent sitting alone at one of the tables, he was
on his laptop with his cup next to him and a notebook. He was so wrapped up in his work that he
didn't even notice me walking up. I pulled out the chair next to him and sat down. Prior to myself
sitting down I privately hypothesized that it would take this man a couple seconds to realize what

Classification of Restaurant Customers Essay
Restaurant Customers At some point in your life you will earn the responsibilities of server. A
majority of you will spend your time serving customers in a restaurant setting, where you may be
more commonly known as a waiter or waitress. Your customers belong to a special group of
customers that can be broken down into five different types. These different types of customers each
require an appropriate kind of service. The better you are at delivering the appropriate services the
better server you will become and the more job satisfaction and tips you will receive. This is why it
is important for you to know how to recognize what type of customer you are serving. The first type
of restaurant customers you should get to know is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will tell you the food is cold or it doesn't taste right, the table is too big or too small, the
silverware is dirty and maybe it's just a water spot, or the air conditioner is set too low, and any other
complaint that they think is relevant. They are usually rude and cannot be pleased. You may notice
that these persnickety customers tend to be older women. It is nearly impossible to please these
people so don't take it personally. And even though you're praying that they leave soon, try just to
smile, promptly get what they ask for and remember to always be polite. A further type of restaurant
customers is the celebrators. These customers will usually be dining out for a special occasion. It
could be a birthday, an anniversary, a victory or anything else they want to celebrate. These people
are always in a great mood and especially easy to please. You should quickly find out what they are
celebrating and act accordingly. Typically, restaurants will give a dessert for birthdays and
anniversaries. At some restaurants, waiters and waitresses sing to the person with a birthday. This is
a great way to increase your tip for this table. Be sure to make these customers feel special in
whatever way you can. They will surely appreciate it and reward you appropriately. The final type of
restaurant customer is the typical family. This is a group of usually two to six people, including both
adults and children. Try to compliment the

Comparative advantage refers to the ability of a party to produce a particular good or service at a
lower opportunity cost than another. Even if one country has an absolute advantage in producing all
goods, different countries could still have different comparative advantages. So if one country has a
comparative advantage over another, both parties can benefit from trading because each party will
receive a good at a price that is lower than its own opportunity cost of producing that good. Thus,
comparative advantage drives Marcoco to specialize in the production of the goods for which they
have the lowest opportunity cost, which leads to increased

Persuasive Essay On Tipping
Tipping your waiter almost feels like something that has just always been around in your dining
experience inside America. You go with family and friends to your favorite restaurant, your waiter
greets you, you order your meal, enjoy it, pay, and leave a tip. However, tipping is an Europe custom
we borrowed. Weirdly enough, tipping use to be viewed as rude and disrespectful, much unlike
today where it is viewed as disrespectful not to leave a tip. According to Michael Lynn, a professor
at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, "tipping in the United States began just
after the American Civil War in the late 1800's." Lynn suggests that wealthy Americans traveling
abroad to Europe witnessed tipping and brought the aristocratic custom back with them to "show
off," or prove their elevated education and class. When you go dine in at your favorite restaurant and
finish your delicious meal, how much do you tip? 10%? 20%? Nothing at all? Do you know how
much to tip, or even why you should leave a tip? Tipping waiters is not a bonus; it is part of their
salary. When you tip, you are helping waiters to achieve minimum wage. Consumers must pay for
these costs one way or another. Tipping in America should be required. With minimum wage for a
waitress being only $2.13, tips are essentially the waitress's prime form of payment. Author Patrick
M. Sheridan stated in his CNN article "predominantly tipped occupations are twice as likely as other
workers to experience poverty, and servers are almost three times as likely to live in poverty."
Statistics from an article on Mother Jones says the overall poverty rate stands at 6.3 percent. For
restaurant workers, the rate is 16.7 percent. "Tipped workers and their families often depend on
welfare programs to survive – and they do so at significantly higher rates than non–tipped workers,
according to a 2014 report from the Economic Policy Institute, a think tank focused on labor issues."
When you fail to tip your waiters, you are predominantly part of the cause of poverty. Stuart wrote
in his article "Because of inflation, the value of the tipped minimum wage has steadily fallen over
the years." Leaving waiters bringing home less and less in tips. If everyone quits

Fayette: A Short Story
Fayette kept her head low, hiding her still light pink cheeks as the others talked about the dance. Her
dark blue eyes widened slightly with her cheeks growing even warmer when Reyen spoke that she
could be his queen. She knew he was joking and messing around with her, but she wasn't used to
those kinds of things being said about her at all. She could hear Ivana state that she doesn't want to
be Queen either and planned on voting for Carrietta and Matthew planning on voting for Ivana.
Fayette jumped when Carrietta threw her arm around her to give her a hug and laid her head on her
shoulder. She listened as she tried to cheer her up with Matthew joining in to say that she was the

Marketing in the Operational Context: the Case of Ikea
MARKETING IN THE OPERATIONAL CONTEXT: THE CASE OF IKEA
I. Introduction
In the recent years, the operations of many businesses have become global in nature. The
internationalization of businesses phenomenon paved the way for various organizations to
conveniently expand in other nations. By penetrating the international marketplace, organizations
are able to acquire greater market in which to sell their products or provide business. One of the
largest companies that has become global today is IKEA. As Swedish–based company, IKEA is a
home furnishing retailer specialist. It started selling nylon stocks, picture frames, pens, table
runners, wallets, jewelries and watches. Eventually, they included furniture in their product range. ...

Fine Dining Steps Of Service
Fine Dining Steps of Service Fine Dining is an experience that is unique in itself. The server makes
each guest feel like they are special and the quality of service received reflects just that. Each step of
service not only makes the guest feel welcome and appreciated, but also contributes to the entire
experience. Without one element of this process going as expected, it can throw off the entire
experience and turn a good one into a disaster. To have a good dining experience, a server must
provide the following step of service to a guest: the meet and greet, taking the orders, the delivery of
the meal, checking back, clearing of the table, dessert/coffee/tea, and delivery of the check. The first
and most important step of service is the meet and greet. This is the server's first impression and can
set the mood for the remainder of the guest dining experience. The server must always approach the
table with warm welcoming smile, say hello, and introduce him/herself by name. Remember this
smile needs to be genuine. The server should ask how the guests are doing and be sincere about it. If
the introduction includes a first name, the guests can actually make a personal connection to the
server. Servers who smile and use a name become more important to the guests and whom are more
likely to return to the restaurant asking for those servers by name. Guests need for the first
impression to be a good experience to set the mood for the rest of the dining

Table Etiquette At Artigem Replacement Service
The dinner table is the center for the teaching and practicing not just of table manners but of
conversation, consideration, tolerance, family feeling, and just about all the other accomplishments
of polite society except the minute. We learned about the importance of table etiquette and manners
while visiting Thad Payne at St. Clair Country Club, also we learned about the importance of
keeping culture and a positive environment with Kurt Artinger at Artigem Replacement Services.
The week started at the new home base of Artigem Replacement Services. Mr Artinger talked to us

Clair Country Club. He taught us about the importance of table etiquette, good manners show
respect for others. There are cultural differences of course but there is a broad agreement across the
world. Some people use a knife and fork one way, Americans who cut their food and use their fork
another, and Africans and Arabs who use their fingers. All traditional but perhaps not acceptable to
use your own method when in another country. Table manners are really important because you will
eat in a fashion that doesn't offend. Table manners doesn't just mean how to hold a knife or fork but
how to converse and with whom, thank serving staff verbally, when you can leave the table, what to
do during speeches and much more. Your level of knowledge necessary for good table manners also
vary depending on your status. Most people will enjoy a 3 or 4 course meals, but if you are
attending functions, dinners and banquets then you need to know about a whole raft of cutlery. I was
actually lucky enough to be the guinea pig in this situation and learn table etiquette for the first time.

another skill to add to your professional repertoire." I honestly did not believe people cared about

Emily, Cody And Lucas Were The Ones At Home
When I enter the home the first thing I noticed was that only Emily, Cody and Lucas were the ones

went upstairs to check on them. At some point Cody no longer wanted to play with Emily and this
made Emily very upset. Ms. Orbach told them to come downstairs and play and they are not allowed
to play upstairs by themselves.
Once they were downstairs in the living room Cody went to the dining table to color and Emily was
playing with her dolls on the floor. Lucas was moving between the two of them. Ms. Orbach and I
then began our conversation about the second parent mentor. I explained to her the reason for the
second parent mentor. They would be another set of eyes into the house , so we can get more things
done throughout the day. It would also be someone there to help supervise the six children. Since
they break off into different sections of the house. I explained it to her in a way that it is about
getting more help versus pushing her to do it all on her own.
She told to me, she is not the one, who said no to the second Parent Mentor, It was the Judge during

Workplace Reflection Essay
There are racial things happening all around us every day but many times people can block it out or
don't notice it because it seems normal. This week I decided to watch and see what racial or gender
type things happen at my place of work. I work at a restaurant in downtown Green Bay, it a bit more
expensive than most places. I'm going to cover the way customers are served and how they are
treated and how things are a little more advanced in the kitchen staff. First of all, I am a host at the
restaurant so I watch closely to make sure all tables are getting service, when a table is first sat the
table is greeted by the server in a happy tone Usually if the customers reply back in a happy way and
friendly way that table will get more attention from the server throughout their time at the
restaurant. When the customer tends to treat the server more as a servant and not as a real person the
servers tend to not check up on the table as much because the table doesn't seem friendly. Another
thing I noticed is that when a table sits and they are dressed nicely and servers my pay more
attention to them compared to a table that is in sweatpants. Servers pay more attention to the tables
that are dressed nicely because they expect them to tip better, I have seen this first hand with two
tables sat at about the same time and the family dressed nicer tip decently and the table in sweats
tipped 74 cents on a $35 bill. Now I know that I don't know the financial backgrounds of these two
families but this is a more expensive restaurant so customers tend to spend more than going to a Red
Robins. Another factor in how you are served at a restaurant is younger couples and elderly couples
are less likely to tip well. Younger couples tend to be seen as not having significant funds to pay and
tip well. Elderly couples are seen as small tippers because they are used to saving and a lower
tipping percentage. For a long time the tipping percentage was 15% percent but over the last few
years, it has been raised to about 18% to 20%. Next, I want to talk about how usually when you
think of a restaurants kitchen staff you may think low–income men maybe even Mexican. At the
restaurant, I work at we have a wide variety of people that work

Observing the descriptive statistics of evaluation criteria shows that there is a huge range within the
cost, technical proposal, and safety. Technical proposal has a dominant role in BV procurement in

reason is that all of the collected projects procured with BV. Technical proposal and PPI gain the

and other evaluation criteria with satisfaction of assumptions that data were normally distributed.

House experience here at The Dining Lab at Monroe College. The three challenges that I would be
writing about would be about option number 1, working within the dining room environment. With
that being said, the three challenger that I choose to write about when it comes to the Front of the
House Operations are:
1. Steps of Service
2. Team work or Lack thereof
3. Mentally
According to Hayes (2013), Steps of Service is the order of tasks a Server needs to follow and
accomplish to deliver the 'Dining Experience'.
Examples of Standards of Service (Hayes, HP225 Dining Room Management Syllabus, 2013):
1) Serve from the left
2) Clear from the right
3) All drinks are served from the right side with the right hand
4) All drinks are carried to and from the table on a tray
5) The use of seat numbers
6) The coffee cup is served from the right, on the right, with the handle at a 67.5 degree angle from
the 12 o'clock position of the guest. (Yes, details within the standards can get this specific)
Examples of Steps of Service (Hayes, HGCC Dining Room Steps of Service, 2009) :
1. Member/ Guest is seated
2. Water Delivery  Within 30 Seconds
3. Server Greets Member(s) and their Guest (s) within 30 Seconds
a. If server cannot greet Member(s) and their Guest within that time frame, at the very least
acknowledge their presence and state you will be with them shortly
4. Ask for Beverage

A Short Story : A Story?
PROLOUGE:
I reached for the circular "up" button on the wall. C'mon c'mon, I mumbled, waiting for the door to
open. The elevator finally got to my floor and the doors slid open. I stepped inside, the five other
people shuffled to make room for me, I stood against the wall. We went up about two floors, when
all of the sudden the lights flickered and the elevator came to a screeching halt. I jerked forward,
trying not to drop my things, what the heck is going on? I thought, beginning to panic. I looked
around. The others murmured around me.
"Oh my god what was that?" asked a woman standing to my right. She looked very frightened and
grabbed onto the tall man standing next to her.
"Great it stopped," said the man standing across from me with a hint of sarcasm. A woman reached
into her bag and grabbed her phone.
"Ugh. There's no cell service," she said.
"It's hot in here." another woman said fanning herself with a file folder.
I should've taken the stairs. Now I'm going to be late," grumbled an older man holding a briefcase.
Among the chaos I saw a man
"It's okay Lily, everything is going to be fine." The tall man told the woman holding on to him. I
noticed the woman's breathing was heavy. I turned to them and asked,
"Is everything alright?"
"I'm claustrophobic, but believe it or not this wouldn't be the first time I've been trapped in a small
space" she explained to me, almost jokingly. "My husband is pretty good about handling my
episodes." she nodded to the tall man

Example Of Gueridon Service
Gueridon Service: This is a service where a dish comes partially prepared from the kitchen to be
completed in the restaurant by the waiter or, when a complete meal is cooked at the table–side in the
restaurant. The cooking is done on a gueridon trolley which is a mobile trolley with a gas cylinder
and burners. The waiter plays a prominent part, as he is required to fillet, carve, flambé and prepare
the food with showmanship. The waiter has to have considerable dexterity and skill. English
Service: Often referred to as the "Host Service" because the host plays an active role in the service.
Food is brought on platters by the waiter and is shown to the host for approval. The waiter then
places the platters on the tables. The host either portions the food into the guest plates directly or
portions the food and allows the waiter to serve. For replenishment of guest food the waiter may
then take the dishes around for guests to help themselves or be served by the waiter. French

Thanksgiving Family Research Paper
This week, families across our state are unboxing their Thanksgiving décor, choosing table cloths,
and deciding who is going to be responsible for what dish next Thursday. It's that time of the year
when we come together, forget our family drama for at least a week and get in the holiday spirit.
Unfortunately, this holiday season comes with a different taste to many. Hundreds of Iowan families
and I will share our Thanksgiving meal with uncertainty, anxiety and fear. The lives of hundreds of
families across our states are at risk. Soon, they might be subject to persecution, intimidation and
deportation. It is no surprise that the Trump administration isn't PoC, women, LGBTQ nor

Iowa has already seen what mass deportations can do that our state like the Postville Raid in 2006

home, are no longer welcomed in the land they nurtured with their own hands.
It is concerning how folks are still telling me that he can't deport everyone and that I shouldn't take
him literally. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take him when he is doing everything he promised
during his campaign. His administration's goal is to deport all of us and two of their main targets are
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
beneficiaries. This is not a drill nor piece of propaganda. This is my call to action to my fellow
Iowans.
The Trump administration rescinded DACA on September 5, 2017. This means that the livelihood of
3,000 DACA beneficiaries living in Iowa are at risk. Many have gone to college, started a family
and help their loved ones with the help of DACA. Contrary to many beliefs, DACA recipients still
can't access health care and social security benefits even though they contribute ### to the program

do with the future of undocumented Iowans with DACA. This is extremely concerning considering
that Congress has yet to pass a single piece of

Creative Writing: A Mother's Tale
A Mother's Tale A cool spring morning in Chicago a little boy was born the fourth son to a woman,
Jane, who already had ten children. As her son took his first breath she lay back on the bed and
sighed a sigh of relief. Her husband, Tony, was nowhere to be found, probably at the bar. Well, she
knew he was at the bar given it was two in the morning and he had gotten paid the night before.
How did things go so wrong in their marriage? Tony had been her high school sweetheart. He had
swept her off her feet and after only a year of courting had proposed and given her the wedding of
her dreams. They had had a great start. He had always provided and made sure the kids were taken
care of and she never felt second best. She has always done what was expected of her. Their
marriage had been working so well until six months ago when Tony took to drinking. Now here she
was alone. Holding her baby boy who was only a few moments old. She couldn't help but wonder if
this was the beginning of something more serious, lonelier than she had anticipated. "He is
beautiful. What will you name him?" softly the midwife asked as she set the handsome baby on
Jane's chest bringing her back to reality. Jane stroked her son and pulled him closer allowing the
warmth of her body to comfort him. She examined him from the top of his peach fuzz covered head
all the way down to his perfect baby toes. Her husband had never missed the birth of any of their
children thus far. The responsibility of naming this

My Experience In My Life
"Poke the porcupine! Poke, poke poke," yelled my brother, Matt, as he jabbed his fingers into my
ribcage. This game made the three hour car ride to Maine feel like eternity as the middle seat had
my name engraved upon it (one of the perks of being the youngest child). My sister stared at the
alluring landscape as we drove down the street, welcoming my family to Nana's house. Pulling into
the driveway, I am greeted by Nana, Papa, and Uncle Dave. My siblings and I immediately explored
the backyard like adventurers in a new habitat. I traveled down a scenic path, welcoming me to the
salty Atlantic. I paddled as hard as I can to keep up with my Nana and Papa kayaking. My whole
family then took a hike, screaming every time we saw an apple tree. As we returned to the house, I
washed my grass stained shirt and checked my body for ticks as I smelt savory lobster cooking.
Crunching on corn and devouring my butter soaked lobster, I looked up at the table and saw a happy
family: laughing about our hiking adventures and enjoying time together. As a first grader, I was
thrilled to practice my reading skills to my Nana as she corrected my mispronunciations. Maine was
a sweet escape, and I never wanted to leave. The only worries in my mind were the grass stains on
my shirt, and removing the tick cemented in my leg.
Ten years later, my family and I took a journey to Maine once again. On the trip down, my squished
legs made the car ride torturous. Thankfully, my brother plugged

Benefits Of A Flight Attendant
Working as a waitress in a bar or a restaurant, and working as a flight attendant may sound the same
but these are different types of careers. A flight attendant is a person who offers services to
customers in an aircraft. While a waitress or waiter, is a person who offers services to customers at a
table in a restaurant. Anybody can become a waitress. But to become a flight attendant, there are
certain requirements to meet up with such as; having a valid passport, a passed background checks,
a one to two years' experience in service occupation. A flight attendant need to undergo training and
take and exam and can only be awarded the license upon their success. Even though being a waitress
or a flight attendant may sound the same due to some similarities in providing services to customers,
and ensuring customer's safety, certain factors make these two careers different from each other. The
first difference between these two careers is the knowledge required. Apart from serving food and
drinks to customers, a flight attendant has a lot of weeks and months of training to undergo such as;
service training, customer's safety in case of an emergency, and layout such as how to open and lock
the door of the plain. Moreover, a waitress requires training too but not as vigorous as a flight
attendance. A waitress or a waiter needs to know the various menus, how they are being prepared,
and the kinds of ingredients used in case a customer is allergic to something. A waiter or

The Gst Act
a) S38–2 of the GST act covers the area of food. It states that a supply of food is GST–free. It is also
worth noting that the food was purchased for a creditable purpose, which was to give customers
something to eat whilst waiting for their appointment and also that it is "free of charge" meaning
that he isn't trying to earn revenue through selling these goods. Although both Sergio and the
receptionist eat from food designated for customers it is still considered GST free as when they
originally purchased the goods it would've came GST free. If it indeed includes GST, they can seek
a deduction for it by claiming 10% of it as GST credits.
b) Sergio attended a seminar conducted by tax experts, from this statement we can assume that this

Here the employee's portion is deductible however the Client's portion is not deductible. However,
with regards to the clients portion we can look into Div 111 which talks about the reimbursement of
expenses, and in this case the food purchased for the clients. This however delves into Fringe
Benefits Tax (FBT), so how does this link to GST? There is rule where you can claim GST credits
for the cost of providing entertainment that is a fringe benefit so this is an option for Sergio. But the
amount he can claim back is dependent on how many clients he went out with, or if we were given
information about how much Sergio spent on himself we'll be able to determine the amount of the
deduction.
d) When dealing with lending money the term financial supplies comes up, it can be defined as input
taxed sales that do not have GST in their price. Here Sergio lends money to clients who are having
issues whilst charging an interest. However, interest expenses don't have the ability to claim GST as
stated before it is classified as input taxed sales and hence will be GST free.
e) Sergio purchases investment magazines primarily to assist him in investing however when he is
done with it he leaves it in the reception area giving customers something to read. This can be
looked from two angles, 1 he is purchasing these magazines to enforce his knowledge and also to
alleviate boredom for customers or he is purchasing them for his own private use. It is evident

How Does Change in the Angle of Elevation Affect the...
Design:
Research Question: How does change in angle of elevation affect the overall velocity of a tennis ball
sliding off a ramp at .74 meters above ground?
Hypothesis: If the angle of elevation of a ramp is increased, then the overall velocity of the tennis
ball in air will also increase.
Variables:
Independent Dependent Controlled Confounding
Angle of elevation of ramp (10º, 20º, 30º, 40º, 50º). Overall velocity calculated that the tennis ball
travels (ms–1). ● Mass of tennis ball (0.058 kg)
● Height of table ramp is on
● Length of ramp
● Width of ramp
● Distance bottom of ramp is away from edge of table (0.0 m)
● Same person releasing ball ● Wind conditions
Materials:
Foam core (size?)
Tape measure
Timer
Tennis ball (0.058 kg)
Protractor
Pen
Ruler
Duct tape
Stack of books
Procedure:
1. Begin with a large piece of foam core board and using ruler and pen, draw a straight line
horizontally across approximately 0.21 meters away from one end of the board (this becomes your
start line).
2. Collect a decent amount of books to stack on top of each other on a high table and lean the foam
core against them (with pen–marked line at top).
3. Tape the "bottom" of the foam core to the edge of the table using duct tape (see appendix A for
example)
4.
Analysis: Raw Data
Table 1 – Recorded distance tennis ball traveled (+/– 0.04 m) from edge of table to where it hit the
ground and time it took from leaving table to hitting ground (+/– 0.15 s) for 10, 20, 30, 40

The Performance Of Leonardo Dicaprio And Jonah Hill
If you haven't seen The Wolf Of Wall street, a movie that hit fame in 2013, you should. The
performance of Leonardo Dicaprio and Jonah Hill was incredible and original. Not only was it a
great movie for all people (of a responsible age). It was a great movie for marketers. As I watched it
I learned so much about marketing and getting your name out there. I also noticed during the entire
duration of the film, they stated benefits of anything and everything it offers. The infamous "Sell me
this Pen", scene said it all. So that is what I am going to do today, I am going to sell you a pen. Well,
I am not actually going to sell you a pen. I am going to sell you, me.
First lets look at marketing in general. Marketing and advertising is the ... Show more content on

Like the "Sell this pen" question has been around way before The Wolf of Wallstreet was around.
No one wants to here the features of a product of service, those are the things that you can mention
but not promote. We don't care how shiny or great the pen is, or if it is the top of the line pen. Those
things do not provoke an emotion. The features provoke nothing.
As marketers we need to gather information, respond to information well, deliver it and how you
close it.
In order to sell something as simple as a pen you have to show those skills I listed above.
Gather information about the last time they used a pen, or if they use a pen and what kind. Make
sure they understand the importance of how they needed that pen in their life. Sell something bigger
than a pen. Sell them a life without a pen. How would they sign important memorable documents
without a pen? Close them; ask for them to buy it. Once you create urgency in a product or service,
they will buy it. Just like in The Wolf of Wall street, Leo says, "sell me this pen". The other man
says," Hand me the pen" "Do me a favor, write your name down on the napkin." Leo says, I can't I
don't have a pen." The man says, " Supply and demand."
Leo needed the pen, the man had it. Hook, line and sinker. It is a simple process to understand. It is
also simple to utilize. I am not going to sit here and talk about Leo and The Wolf of Wallstreet the
entire time. Everyone has probably tried to

PlanAir would have to fire employees since they won't be needed anymore.
PlanAir also have to consider that by having less people in their workforce they won't be as flexible.
PlanAir would be more sensitive to deviations from the forecasted demand.
Also the Union might intervene if contracts are not followed
Part 3 – Over and Understaffing

The formula already attempts to minimize the total cost and as such, increased salary costs are

Stranger Danger Research Papers
"Stranger danger" is a term that we learned as children in elementary school. Even though we're
taught to never talk to or trust strangers, doing so has almost become an instinct. When I walk out to
the mailbox at the end of my driveway, I'm expecting to see some bills, some magazines, and if I'm
lucky, something that I ordered off Amazon. Everyday we are relying on that mail carrier not to do
certain things: lose or damage any mail. Placing faith in strangers has become an everyday event
because we have to in order to have an easier and better experience on earth. Not only do we trust
strangers with our mail, but we also put them in charge of cleaning the rooms we stay in.
To begin, we all at one point stayed at some sort of hotel. When my family checks in and we get our
room key, we are expecting to see the carpet vacuumed, the toilets scrubbed to a pristine white, and
most importantly: bedsheets that lack bedbugs and long black hairs. But knowing if the maid

Sample Resume : My Job Essay
My job is laid out in simple steps: hand each person a clear plastic cup full of cold tap water from

order; enter it in the POS System; wait for the bussers to distribute the food; check on them midway
through their meal; hand check; collect. Of course there is sometimes extra steps, where the
customers ask for a specific request, but most of the time, the routine never strays away from the
norm. It's usually the same old, same old. Throughout the shift, it isn't rare to experience memorable
customers. Almost all waitresses experience these kinds of people and Soho Park is no exception.
After all, it is conveniently a block away from the tourist trap of Broadway, so there is no doubt
people of distinct personalities decide to stop by for a quick bite. We like to categorize these types of
interesting customers in a unanimous criterion. We mainly base these types from their personality
and tipping experiences on past tables with similar qualities. "Whenever you print out a bill, make
sure to write 'thank you' on the check," Codie says on my first training day. She writes in her
signature narrow script before adding a heart at the end of her note. "Sometimes these notes will get

Personal Narrative: A Life Changing
Life Changing
My childhood home was a gorgeous two story Victorian in the small rural town of LeRoy, Illinois.
The 100 year old house had an empty basement cellar and an attic that over time had become home
to a family of squirrels each winter. In its early days, the building was split up into two separate
apartments. When the back half of the house caught fire in the 1970's, the building was renovated
and made into one home. The yard was vast and cavernous, surrounded by trees that swayed in the
wind like a dancer gliding across a stage. A number of these trees were excellent for climbing as a
kid. Two sets of french doors led to the family room from the deck where light seeped into the house
and through the windows. In the dining room stood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Personal Reflection For Personal Assignment
The purpose behind this assignment from my own understanding is for a couple of reasons. One of
them is to help improve and practice report writings/responses, while another reason is to express
what we believe our strengths and weaknesses will be in this chosen career path. This assignment is
beneficial because it will prepare us for future writing assignments in the program, and better
understand how we will be graded. It will also help us reflect on what skills we think we can bring
to the table, along with weaknesses we can improve on. It will be a useful assignment to reflect on
my own personal strengths, and will be a beneficial tool to my success in this program. This career
choice (specifically EMS dispatching) is something I'm hoping I could be exceptional at because of
my experience working as an EMT. I attended PMA in 2014 where I learned a variety of useful
skills from great instructors that could easily crossover to dispatching. I then mastered these skills
out on the field, working hand in hand with Emergency Services! I like to think with this experience
I can bring quick decision–making skills to the table; as well as limited medical knowledge for
certain situations when necessary. I have experience in triaging, and can handle stressful situations
exceptionally well while staying emotionally–detached. In fact, nothing was more thrilling to me
then heading to a call full lights and sirens! There's no better feeling than conquering those tough
decisions, and knowing you've done all you can to help someone. I also bring excellent
communication skills to the table due to my large personality and theatre experience in high school.
When I say large personality, I don't mean it in an obnoxious way. It's more so in a personable way,
where I love talking to people and am outgoing. It's helpful to have when your trying to keep
someone on the phone during a tough call, or when you need to keep a person calm in a stressful
situation. It's important to be able to talk to people without being shy or nervous, and having them
feel like they can trust and rely on you. This is also an important skill to have when you work
alongside other coworkers, you need to be able to speak up and get along with your peers

Breaking Bread Project Analysis

  • 1. Breaking Bread Project Analysis During this semester's service learning project, I chose to serve at a community organization called Church On Wheels, Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen. Every night Monday through Friday Breaking Bread opens its doors to the community and provides a meal at no cost. Their mission statement is simple: To carry the gospel of the Lord through feeding the hungry and helping those in need. With this Christ–like love to His people, every night employees and volunteers come together to provide a meal that does not only feed them physically but nourishes the soul of everyone that enters the doors. Within the city of Midland, Texas you will find a diverse culture and community. Due to the recent oil boom, many families found themselves struggling to put a meal on the table. Breaking Bread saw the need in the community to open the doors every night to see that no one would go hungry in our town. With a commitment to see that the poor and needy are served with the love of Christ. On any given night you can expect to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the days that I served I worked with their head chef Mari and a small group of volunteers from local groups. The agenda that day was cleaning and organizing the pantry and blessing closet, as well as lending a hand in the kitchen. Every day they open their doors to volunteers at 3pm and we work to prepare the dinner and help Mr. Robert and his wife Grandma Betty in the dining room. Within the kitchen, duties range from food prep, clean–up, and serving people that come through the line. In the dining hall, Grandma Betty runs a tight ship. We assisted her with prepping every table, the drink station, and assisting people as they exited the line. As dinner progressed, we worked to walk table to table picking up trash for diners, fellowshipping, and offer refills on their drinks. Overall, my favorite portion of service is the dining hall. It is a blessing to serve others with a kind heart and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Go here?: A Fictional Narrative "Um, who's this?" I asked, even though it wouldn't take a genius to say who was on the other line. "Harry." "And how exactly did you get my number?" I inquired and I could hear the smile that was growing on his face. "I get things, Gray. It is what I do." God, it's like I can also see him shrugging. Get what things? Phone numbers, or girls? I glared at myself, at my subconscious. "How do you get things, Styles?" I glanced up at the door, knowing my father was probably going to emerge any second. And I glanced again, feeling like I was having a "naughty" conversation, even though this is the farthest thing from, I think. "I just do. Anyway, what are you up to this fine evening?" "Sleep." Oh no, THE SQUEAK. "At six o'clock? Doubt it." He's even confident over the phone. I groaned. "Okay, maybe not sleep." I sighed. "Then what are you doing?" He asked. "Nothing." I replied. Now that Liz left, I am left in my boredom. "Good. I am doing nothing too. We should hang out." Blunt much? Well, it's better than how I would ask a question like that. "Why?" I squeaked. "Because we're friends, right?" I don't know. According to Liz we are "flirty friends". "I don't know, are we?" I asked and finally my squeak subsided, for now. "We are." He confirmed. "Alright." "Alright?" He repeated, sounding confused. "Alright, lets hang out." I breathed out nervously, trying to contain my squeak. "I'll pick you up in fifteen minutes, yeah?" I nodded but remembered we're speaking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Descriptive Essay On Being A Waitress It's always nice to go out to eat, order a nice meal that you do not have to cook and be served everything you want. When going out to eat, have you ever thought about the person that is serving you food, getting you drinks, and making sure you have a pleasant experience at the restaurant of your choice? That person is a server. He or she is a waiter or waitress. I've gone out to eat a lot, and I've always been a little curious what is like to be the person serving the food and not eating it. I chose to research this subculture because I was so curious about it. I have some friends that wait tables, but I hadn't really thought about how being a waitress involves so many things aside from serving food. Waitressing is more about handling all different types of people, and learning to multitask successfully than just serving food. When I go out to eat, I usually only notice if the waitress or waiter is nice to me and my party. I make sure that all of the food and drinks come out the way we ordered them, and I also pay attention to how the food tastes. When I started my research and observation for this ethnography, I started to pay more attention the server when I was eating at restaurants. I started to notice how many tables the server waited on, I noticed how many times he or she had to take food back to the kitchen because someone thought it was wrong or not cooked right, and I also noticed how unhappy he or she was when they left a certain table. I have also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. How to Prepare a Thanksgiving Dinner Essay How to Prepare a Thanksgiving Dinner Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate our joys with friends and family. Unfortunately, if you are the person designated to cooking the holiday dinner, the joys can turn into complete and total fear. I'll never forget the first time I made Thanksgiving dinner for twenty family members and friends. I waited until the last minute to start and the dinner ended in a complete disaster. In the years following that failure, I have learned that preparing a Thanksgiving dinner is easy...if you plan ahead. Eventually the day arrives when you are selected to prepare the Thanksgiving dinner. Don't panic. With a few hours of planning, your dinner can be a complete success. The key to pulling off a successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that the menu is where your success will be ensured. Take your time and consider all your guests. Be sure to be aware if someone is allergic to a specific meat or spice. Also, you probably know what your family's traditions are, so plan accordingly. If your family's tradition includes turkey and ham, try to keep to tradition as tradition makes everything go smoother. You can also add side dishes to enhance the meal and try to start new traditions. Most Thanksgiving holiday meals include the traditional turkey, ham and prime rib. If you are having a large dinner party, I would suggest making all three. Preparing three different main dishes can be difficult, but as I mentioned above, planning is everything. Remember, if you have a small oven, you can always cook the ham a day in advance, roast the turkey on Thanksgiving Day and save the prime rib for the barbeque grill while the turkey is cooking. The next step in meal planning is planning the side dishes. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing, Yams, Green Bean Casserole, Chili Casserole, Ambrosia, Dinner Rolls, Cranberry Sauce, Deviled Eggs and an olive tray are our traditional dishes. Many of these dishes can be prepared in advance so you have time to enjoy your guests. The final planning stage of the dinner will be dessert. Thanksgiving Day just isn't the same without the pies and desserts. My daughters are usually the ones in charge of dessert. Not only does relying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Discovery Of A Stranger's Personal Space Proximity can be defined as nearness in space, time, or relationship. There are many terms and or phrases used to describe proximity such as personal space, soul space, bubble, comfort zone, too close for comfort, grill, invasion of privacy, etc. In this assignment we were asked to invade a stranger's personal space and record their reaction to this event. I went to a neighborhood Starbucks and proceeded to invade the personal space of a stranger sitting at a table with his laptop. I also tried talking within close proximity of someone just to see their reaction, but the results of the Starbucks experiment brought about greater output. After church on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:16pm I walked into the Starbucks located at 1830 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432. I walked up to the counter and ordered a triple shot of espresso with 3 raw sugars, and a tall cup of ice with splash of soy milk. Once I received my order I walked to the condiments table near the door and began to mix my drink. I stirred the sugar into the espresso and then poured it over the cup of iced soy milk. There was a man who appeared to be of Caucasian decent sitting alone at one of the tables, he was on his laptop with his cup next to him and a notebook. He was so wrapped up in his work that he didn't even notice me walking up. I pulled out the chair next to him and sat down. Prior to myself sitting down I privately hypothesized that it would take this man a couple seconds to realize what was going ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Classification of Restaurant Customers Essay Restaurant Customers At some point in your life you will earn the responsibilities of server. A majority of you will spend your time serving customers in a restaurant setting, where you may be more commonly known as a waiter or waitress. Your customers belong to a special group of customers that can be broken down into five different types. These different types of customers each require an appropriate kind of service. The better you are at delivering the appropriate services the better server you will become and the more job satisfaction and tips you will receive. This is why it is important for you to know how to recognize what type of customer you are serving. The first type of restaurant customers you should get to know is ... They will tell you the food is cold or it doesn't taste right, the table is too big or too small, the silverware is dirty and maybe it's just a water spot, or the air conditioner is set too low, and any other complaint that they think is relevant. They are usually rude and cannot be pleased. You may notice that these persnickety customers tend to be older women. It is nearly impossible to please these people so don't take it personally. And even though you're praying that they leave soon, try just to smile, promptly get what they ask for and remember to always be polite. A further type of restaurant customers is the celebrators. These customers will usually be dining out for a special occasion. It could be a birthday, an anniversary, a victory or anything else they want to celebrate. These people are always in a great mood and especially easy to please. You should quickly find out what they are celebrating and act accordingly. Typically, restaurants will give a dessert for birthdays and anniversaries. At some restaurants, waiters and waitresses sing to the person with a birthday. This is a great way to increase your tip for this table. Be sure to make these customers feel special in whatever way you can. They will surely appreciate it and reward you appropriately. The final type of restaurant customer is the typical family. This is a group of usually two to six people, including both adults and children. Try to compliment the ... • 15. Persuasive Essay On Tipping Tipping your waiter almost feels like something that has just always been around in your dining experience inside America. You go with family and friends to your favorite restaurant, your waiter greets you, you order your meal, enjoy it, pay, and leave a tip. However, tipping is an Europe custom we borrowed. Weirdly enough, tipping use to be viewed as rude and disrespectful, much unlike today where it is viewed as disrespectful not to leave a tip. According to Michael Lynn, a professor at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, "tipping in the United States began just after the American Civil War in the late 1800's." Lynn suggests that wealthy Americans traveling abroad to Europe witnessed tipping and brought the aristocratic custom back with them to "show off," or prove their elevated education and class. When you go dine in at your favorite restaurant and finish your delicious meal, how much do you tip? 10%? 20%? Nothing at all? Do you know how much to tip, or even why you should leave a tip? Tipping waiters is not a bonus; it is part of their salary. When you tip, you are helping waiters to achieve minimum wage. Consumers must pay for these costs one way or another. Tipping in America should be required. With minimum wage for a waitress being only $2.13, tips are essentially the waitress's prime form of payment. Author Patrick M. Sheridan stated in his CNN article "predominantly tipped occupations are twice as likely as other workers to experience poverty, and servers are almost three times as likely to live in poverty." Statistics from an article on Mother Jones says the overall poverty rate stands at 6.3 percent. For restaurant workers, the rate is 16.7 percent. "Tipped workers and their families often depend on welfare programs to survive – and they do so at significantly higher rates than non–tipped workers, according to a 2014 report from the Economic Policy Institute, a think tank focused on labor issues." When you fail to tip your waiters, you are predominantly part of the cause of poverty. Stuart wrote in his article "Because of inflation, the value of the tipped minimum wage has steadily fallen over the years." Leaving waiters bringing home less and less in tips. If everyone quits ... • 21. Fine Dining Steps Of Service Fine Dining Steps of Service Fine Dining is an experience that is unique in itself. The server makes each guest feel like they are special and the quality of service received reflects just that. Each step of service not only makes the guest feel welcome and appreciated, but also contributes to the entire experience. Without one element of this process going as expected, it can throw off the entire experience and turn a good one into a disaster. To have a good dining experience, a server must provide the following step of service to a guest: the meet and greet, taking the orders, the delivery of the meal, checking back, clearing of the table, dessert/coffee/tea, and delivery of the check. The first and most important step of service is the meet and greet. This is the server's first impression and can set the mood for the remainder of the guest dining experience. The server must always approach the table with warm welcoming smile, say hello, and introduce him/herself by name. Remember this smile needs to be genuine. The server should ask how the guests are doing and be sincere about it. If the introduction includes a first name, the guests can actually make a personal connection to the server. Servers who smile and use a name become more important to the guests and whom are more likely to return to the restaurant asking for those servers by name. All traditional but perhaps not acceptable to use your own method when in another country. Table manners are really important because you will eat in a fashion that doesn't offend. • 34. Workplace Reflection Essay There are racial things happening all around us every day but many times people can block it out or don't notice it because it seems normal. This week I decided to watch and see what racial or gender type things happen at my place of work. I work at a restaurant in downtown Green Bay, it a bit more expensive than most places. I'm going to cover the way customers are served and how they are treated and how things are a little more advanced in the kitchen staff. First of all, I am a host at the restaurant so I watch closely to make sure all tables are getting service, when a table is first sat the table is greeted by the server in a happy tone Usually if the customers reply back in a happy way and friendly way that table will get more attention from the server throughout their time at the restaurant. When the customer tends to treat the server more as a servant and not as a real person the servers tend to not check up on the table as much because the table doesn't seem friendly. Another thing I noticed is that when a table sits and they are dressed nicely and servers my pay more attention to them compared to a table that is in sweatpants. Servers pay more attention to the tables that are dressed nicely because they expect them to tip better, I have seen this first hand with two tables sat at about the same time and the family dressed nicer tip decently and the table in sweats tipped 74 cents on a $35 bill. Now I know that I don't know the financial backgrounds of these two families but this is a more expensive restaurant so customers tend to spend more than going to a Red Robins. Another factor in how you are served at a restaurant is younger couples and elderly couples are less likely to tip well. Younger couples tend to be seen as not having significant funds to pay and tip well. Elderly couples are seen as small tippers because they are used to saving and a lower tipping percentage. For a long time the tipping percentage was 15% percent but over the last few years, it has been raised to about 18% to 20%. Next, I want to talk about how usually when you think of a restaurants kitchen staff you may think low–income men maybe even Mexican. This game made the three hour car ride to Maine feel like eternity as the middle seat had my name engraved upon it (one of the perks of being the youngest child). My sister stared at the alluring landscape as we drove down the street, welcoming my family to Nana's house. Pulling into the driveway, I am greeted by Nana, Papa, and Uncle Dave. My siblings and I immediately explored the backyard like adventurers in a new habitat. I traveled down a scenic path, welcoming me to the salty Atlantic. I paddled as hard as I can to keep up with my Nana and Papa kayaking. My whole family then took a hike, screaming every time we saw an apple tree. As we returned to the house, I washed my grass stained shirt and checked my body for ticks as I smelt savory lobster cooking. Crunching on corn and devouring my butter soaked lobster, I looked up at the table and saw a happy family: laughing about our hiking adventures and enjoying time together. As a first grader, I was thrilled to practice my reading skills to my Nana as she corrected my mispronunciations. Maine was a sweet escape, and I never wanted to leave. It is also worth noting that the food was purchased for a creditable purpose, which was to give customers something to eat whilst waiting for their appointment and also that it is "free of charge" meaning that he isn't trying to earn revenue through selling these goods. Although both Sergio and the receptionist eat from food designated for customers it is still considered GST free as when they originally purchased the goods it would've came GST free. If it indeed includes GST, they can seek a deduction for it by claiming 10% of it as GST credits. b) Sergio attended a seminar conducted by tax experts, from this statement we can assume that this ... However, with regards to the clients portion we can look into Div 111 which talks about the reimbursement of expenses, and in this case the food purchased for the clients. This however delves into Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), so how does this link to GST? There is rule where you can claim GST credits for the cost of providing entertainment that is a fringe benefit so this is an option for Sergio. But the amount he can claim back is dependent on how many clients he went out with, or if we were given information about how much Sergio spent on himself we'll be able to determine the amount of the deduction. d) When dealing with lending money the term financial supplies comes up, it can be defined as input taxed sales that do not have GST in their price. Here Sergio lends money to clients who are having issues whilst charging an interest. However, interest expenses don't have the ability to claim GST as stated before it is classified as input taxed sales and hence will be GST free. e) Sergio purchases investment magazines primarily to assist him in investing however when he is done with it he leaves it in the reception area giving customers something to read. This can be looked from two angles, 1 he is purchasing these magazines to enforce his knowledge and also to alleviate boredom for customers or he is purchasing them for his own private use. The Lovebugs: A Narrative Fiction When Joshua walked into the Hickory Pit Café and sat down, Jeannie, the morning waitress, poured him a cup of coffee and a glass of ice–water, which she set in front of him. • 65. The Performance Of Leonardo Dicaprio And Jonah Hill If you haven't seen The Wolf Of Wall street, a movie that hit fame in 2013, you should. The performance of Leonardo Dicaprio and Jonah Hill was incredible and original. Not only was it a great movie for all people (of a responsible age). It was a great movie for marketers. As I watched it I learned so much about marketing and getting your name out there. I also noticed during the entire duration of the film, they stated benefits of anything and everything it offers. The infamous "Sell me this Pen", scene said it all. So that is what I am going to do today, I am going to sell you a pen. Well, I am not actually going to sell you a pen. I am going to sell you, me. First lets look at marketing in general. Marketing and advertising is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like the "Sell this pen" question has been around way before The Wolf of Wallstreet was around. No one wants to here the features of a product of service, those are the things that you can mention but not promote. We don't care how shiny or great the pen is, or if it is the top of the line pen. Those things do not provoke an emotion. The features provoke nothing. As marketers we need to gather information, respond to information well, deliver it and how you close it. In order to sell something as simple as a pen you have to show those skills I listed above. Gather information about the last time they used a pen, or if they use a pen and what kind. Make sure they understand the importance of how they needed that pen in their life. Sell something bigger than a pen. Sell them a life without a pen. How would they sign important memorable documents without a pen? Close them; ask for them to buy it. Once you create urgency in a product or service, they will buy it. Just like in The Wolf of Wall street, Leo says, "sell me this pen". The other man says," Hand me the pen" "Do me a favor, write your name down on the napkin." Leo says, I can't I don't have a pen." The man says, " Supply and demand." Leo needed the pen, the man had it. Hook, line and sinker. It is a simple process to understand. It is also simple to utilize. • 70. Stranger Danger Research Papers "Stranger danger" is a term that we learned as children in elementary school. Even though we're taught to never talk to or trust strangers, doing so has almost become an instinct. When I walk out to the mailbox at the end of my driveway, I'm expecting to see some bills, some magazines, and if I'm lucky, something that I ordered off Amazon. Everyday we are relying on that mail carrier not to do certain things: lose or damage any mail. Placing faith in strangers has become an everyday event because we have to in order to have an easier and better experience on earth. Not only do we trust strangers with our mail, but we also put them in charge of cleaning the rooms we stay in. To begin, we all at one point stayed at some sort of hotel. When my family checks in and we get our room key, we are expecting to see the carpet vacuumed, the toilets scrubbed to a pristine white, and most importantly: bedsheets that lack bedbugs and long black hairs. But knowing if the maid changed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Surely, that person will say to replace it all because the worker said to. Then we have to sit there for years just to get your car fixed. We are trusting that the worker is tightening all the bolts and doing the imperative repairs correctly, not just rushing to get the job done fast. Sample Resume : My Job Essay My job is laid out in simple steps: hand each person a clear plastic cup full of cold tap water from the counter sink that is carried by a black plastic tray that we must balance with one hand; take their order; enter it in the POS System; wait for the bussers to distribute the food; check on them midway through their meal; hand check; collect. Of course there is sometimes extra steps, where the customers ask for a specific request, but most of the time, the routine never strays away from the norm. It's usually the same old, same old. Throughout the shift, it isn't rare to experience memorable customers. Almost all waitresses experience these kinds of people and Soho Park is no exception. After all, it is conveniently a block away from the tourist trap of Broadway, so there is no doubt people of distinct personalities decide to stop by for a quick bite. We like to categorize these types of interesting customers in a unanimous criterion. We mainly base these types from their personality and tipping experiences on past tables with similar qualities. "Whenever you print out a bill, make sure to write 'thank you' on the check," Codie says on my first training day. She writes in her signature narrow script before adding a heart at the end of her note. "Sometimes these notes will get you more tips." The 100 year old house had an empty basement cellar and an attic that over time had become home to a family of squirrels each winter. In its early days, the building was split up into two separate apartments. When the back half of the house caught fire in the 1970's, the building was renovated and made into one home. The yard was vast and cavernous, surrounded by trees that swayed in the wind like a dancer gliding across a stage. A number of these trees were excellent for climbing as a kid. • 80. Personal Reflection For Personal Assignment The purpose behind this assignment from my own understanding is for a couple of reasons. One of them is to help improve and practice report writings/responses, while another reason is to express what we believe our strengths and weaknesses will be in this chosen career path. This assignment is beneficial because it will prepare us for future writing assignments in the program, and better understand how we will be graded. It will also help us reflect on what skills we think we can bring to the table, along with weaknesses we can improve on. It will be a useful assignment to reflect on my own personal strengths, and will be a beneficial tool to my success in this program. This career choice (specifically EMS dispatching) is something I'm hoping I could be exceptional at because of my experience working as an EMT. I attended PMA in 2014 where I learned a variety of useful skills from great instructors that could easily crossover to dispatching. I then mastered these skills out on the field, working hand in hand with Emergency Services! I like to think with this experience I can bring quick decision–making skills to the table; as well as limited medical knowledge for certain situations when necessary. I have experience in triaging, and can handle stressful situations exceptionally well while staying emotionally–detached. In fact, nothing was more thrilling to me then heading to a call full lights and sirens! There's no better feeling than conquering those tough decisions, and knowing you've done all you can to help someone. I also bring excellent communication skills to the table due to my large personality and theatre experience in high school. When I say large personality, I don't mean it in an obnoxious way. It's more so in a personable way, where I love talking to people and am outgoing. It's helpful to have when your trying to keep someone on the phone during a tough call, or when you need to keep a person calm in a stressful situation. It's important to be able to talk to people without being shy or nervous, and having them feel like they can trust and rely on you. This is also an important skill to have when you work alongside other coworkers, you need to be able to speak up and get along with your peers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
