attended our Family event
Twenty adults attended our second
work event later in the year.

8. Stuffed suitcases of school supplies for the
Amka Africa school in Babati, Tanzania delivered by a
group of 7 women from PCWS along with other items
they collected for a total of 9 suitcases.

1. One Great Hour of Sharing – Lenten Season
2. Pentecost Offering – Focus: At risk Children & Youth
3. Peacemaking Offering – First Sunday in October
4. Christmas Joy Offering – benefiting PC(USA) Retired Ministers
and Racial/Ethnic schools
In 2013, we collected $10,038.71 for these offerings.

12. Donation Center Bins
Located In the alcove by the offices of Pastor Jennifer and Pastor Matt
1. Travel size toiletries - to Sharing Connection for homeless & low income families
2. Capri juice pouches – recycled and repurposed
3. Used ink cartridges – recycled
4. Used cell phones – recycled for reuse by agency working with battered women
5. Plastic food containers – to Food For Life used in sending clients home with leftover food items
6. Calendars, Stationery & Yarn – to Maria and Believe Shelters
7. CURRENT magazines – to Community Nurses Association for their clinic waiting rooms
8. Deacon Heart-warmer Jars – return an empty jar or take jars to fill with yummy soup. The
Deacons provide Heart warmer meals to people needing a hug & nourishing bowl of soup!
9. Empty dishes from PCWS events (A gentle reminder - look here for any dishes you may have
inadvertently left at PCWS)

14. Months of Food for Life
12 times each year we provide nourishing food at
First Presbyterian Church of Chicago which helps
feed upwards of 80 hungry people

4th Tuesday each month

Collected under the Narthex Christmas tree
helped replenish the Pine Avenue Presbyterian
Food Pantry after the Christmas holiday season!
This provided needed food for the Pine Avenue
Food Pantry on the west side of Chicago

Given to Maria Shelter &
Believe Family Shelter on the
south side of Chicago.
A variety of new hats,
gloves/mittens & scarves
were also shared with these
two Shelters & Sharing

we receive the ‘LOOSE COIN’ offering in Worship
which aids Greater Chicago Food Depository
and Pine Avenue Food Pantry
we collect canned goods & fresh
produce for 2nd Second Baptist Food
Pantry in LaGrange (delivered Monday)
24. BABY DIAPERS & BABY WIPES
2,064 baby diapers collected through the spring
‘Diaper Drive’. They were shared between Maria
Shelter & the Night Ministry’s Parenting program
Almost miraculously, nearly equal
number of diaper wipes – 2,027!
26. Jewel ‘super saver’ stickers
Which translated into….
258 new colorful stoneware dishes
for clients at Maria Shelter, Believe Shelter and
Sharing Connection as they move on their journey
from homelessness to their own apartment.
