Correctional Records Clerk
1. CORRECTIONAL RECORDS CLERK
This positions calculates and maintains tentative release date lists for inmates; ensures
that committed offenders are released appropriately and all required notifications are
made in mandated timeframes; coordinates holds and releases of offenders; leads and
trains correctional records clerks; answers correspondence from offenders, other
agencies and the public; ensures that inmates are scheduled and seen for Board of
Executive Clemency hearings; inputs all board dispositions on denials and grants into
Parole Board sub-system; conducts file and computer audits; and performs other duties
appropriate to the assignment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
KNOWLEDGE: Of automated data and manual filing systems; work management;
leadership; and training practices and techniques.
SKILL: In operating keyboard and automated data equipment; oral and written
communications; and interpersonal relationships.
ABILITY: To review and interpret court documents, commitment orders and agency policies and procedures; monitor inmate
records and documents for accuracy and compliance; train subordinate staff; learn criminal codes, sentencing and parole laws, rules
and regulations; interpret policies and procedures governing transfers, movements, paroles, releases, discharges, detainers and
warrants; and work in a prison environment.
Preferred candidate will possess experience in a legal, correctional or law enforcement environment.
Employment is contingent on the successful applicant passing a background investigation and pre-employment drug test.

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Comprehensive benefits package includes 12 days sick leave, 12 days vacation, and 10 holidays per year; health and dental

disability, deferred compensation, and supplemental life insurance.
State employees are subject to mandatory furlough days scheduled for FY 2011 (6 days) and in FY 2012 (6 days). A furlough is time
off without pay and equals 8 hours per day for full-time employees and is pro-rated for part-time employees.
