5. WHY DO WE USE SEED IDEAS FOR
SMALL MOMENTS?
- Seed ideas play a movie in our minds as we remember them.
- They are so vivid, we can recall every detail, almost as if we are re-
living the moment.
- When we add those details in to our writing, we are creating a
movie in the minds of our readers as well.
- Seed ideas require detail, focus and purpose- All of these make
good writing.
8. TIME TO BRAINSTORM!
In your writer’s notebook, please start by making a list of moments in
your life that are meaningful to you. You will take a picture of this list
and turn it in today for your assignment. Here is the start to my list:
- The day I got adopted.
- The day I found out I was going to have Macie.
- The day I got engaged.
- When I performed at Disney World.
- The day my cousin Todd died.
*Notice how I am just making a list here… I am not adding detail yet.
Just brainstorming a list!
