› They must be directly connected to the central idea.
› The must begin with a topic sentence that also supports
the central idea.
› How many?
– A minimum of 3
– But it really depends on how much information you have and
how your plan to organize it!

6. Ask yourself
What is the information category for this paragraph?
Why is this information important?
How am I going to make this sentence connect to the
previous paragraph?
How do you craft a topic sentence for a body
paragraph?

7. › Now it is time to write a body paragraph.
› Here are my examples:
– Body Paragraph #1: Virtual learning is changing education
because of the powerful technology that is used to inspire
learning.
– Body Paragraph #2: Virtual learning inspires innovation in
teachers, students , and the entire school community.
– Body Paragraph #3: Virtual learning cultivates creativity and
inspires teachers and students to step out of their comfort zones.

8. › Look at your central idea and the structure that you chose
for your essay.
› Using that work, create a topic sentence for each body
paragraph that you will have in your essay.
› Choose the best topic sentence in your opinion and add
that to our class discussion board for your assignment for
today.
