We Do Not Run “Job Fairs”
You may have attended job fairs in the past where you pay your money up front, set up a booth and hope the right candidate finds
you. This will NOT happen at a Lucas Group Military Hiring Conference! When you attend a Lucas Group Hiring Conference, we
will PRE-SELECT a slate of QUALIFIED and INTEREST ED candidates based upon the parameters you give us. We will
PRESHEDULE interviews for you to ensure a productive experience. We invite specific candidates to attend based upon the
needs of the corporations that have confirmed to attend.
Cost
We do not charge you a fee to attend the Lucas Group Hiring Conference. The only cost to you is the hotel suite(s) where you
conduct the interviews (cost varies by location). The cost of the room includes a late check-out (5:30pm) to allow for afternoon
interviews. Lucas Group also provides a luncheon for all corporate interviewers. You only pay Lucas Group a fee if you ultimately
choose to hire one or more of the candidates we have presented to you (contingency placement fee).
How Do I Confirm My Attendance?
Coordinate with your Lucas Group Account Executive and they will make all the arrangements for you, including reserving your
room (the hotel will get your method-of-payment when you check in upon arrival) and setting up your interview schedule. We can
be as flexible as you need us to be with respect to interview start and stop times to accommodate your travel schedule. It is
important that we get all of this information PRIOR TO the conference so we can set up your interview schedule accordingly.
Confirmation Deadline
The deadline for confirming your attendance to the Lucas Group Hiring Conference is normally SIX (6) business days prior to the
event. Ask your Lucas Group Account Executive for the confirmation deadline for each event you are interested in attending.
Why Do I Need a Hotel Suite?
Even if you are driving in the morning of your interviews, it is important to have a quiet, private, professional location to conduct
the interviews to eliminate distractions and ensure a productive interview. The “suite” hotels where we host the Lucas Group
Hiring Conferences provide the perfect environment for this.
Who Normally Attends?
Ideally, the Hiring Manager for the position(s) you are seeking to fill will attend. It is sometimes helpful to have a Human
Resources representative present in addition to the Hiring Manager.
How Many & What Types of Corporations Attend?
Each Lucas Group Hiring Conference has an average of 40-45 corporations in attendance (varies by location...some will be 30-35,
some as large as 60-70). They represent the largest publicly and privately-held corporations in the world, midsized companies as
well as some smaller businesses. Our Interview Package will contain a list of the other corporations in attendance at each event
you attend.

How Many Candidates Will be in Attendance?
Each Lucas Group Hiring Conference has an average of 75-100 candidates in attendance (varies by location). Our “Technician
only” conferences will have between 30-50 candidates. These candidates have been INVITED to attend based upon the needs of
the corporations that have confirmed and the candidate’s qualifications and career search parameters.
How Many Candidates Will I Interview?
Interviews are normally scheduled 45-60 minutes apart (occasionally 30 minutes apart). We can start interviews as early as
7:30am. The last interviews can end as late at 5:30pm. Please confirm your arrival and departure requirements with your Lucas
Group Account Executive so we can eliminate conflicts with other prior commitments and/or travel requirements.
How Are Candidates Selected for My Interview Schedule?
Your Lucas Group Account Executive will work with our Candidate Recruiting Team to ensure that we are selecting candidates
that will be QUALIFIED (based on the parameters you have given us) and INTEREST ED (your opportunity fits the candidate’s
career search parameters). Your interview schedule will not be finalized until you arrive at the conference. We need this flexibility
in order to ensure that we are putting the best possible slate of candidates in front of you.
When Do I Get My Interview Schedule & When Do I Get to See the Resumes?
When you arrive at the conference, you will check into your hotel suite and will go to the LUCAS GROUP CLIENT HOSPITALITY
SUITE, where you will receive your INTERVIEW PACKAGE. This package includes your INTERVIEW SCHEDULE, as well as
RESUMES for the candidates we have selected for your line-up; and a FEEDBACK SHEET, which you will use to provide
feedback on the candidates you interviewed. If you plan to arrive after 8pm the day before the interviews, we will leave your
interview package at the hotel’s front desk for pick-up because the Client Hospitality Suite closes at 8pm the evening prior to the
interviews.
How Many Interviews Does Each Candidate Have?
Each candidate will normally have 5-8 interviews at the Lucas Group Hiring Conference. Highly qualified candidates with
reasonably open geographical parameters may have 10-11.
What Happens Once I Have Completed My Interviews?
Once you have completed your interviews, complete your FEEDBACK SHEET and go to the Lucas Group Client Hospitality Suite.
Give this form to your Account Executive or another member of the Lucas Group team. They will review it with you to ensure we
have captured all relevant feedback.
What Do I Need to Do to Land My “Top Prospects?”
Let the candidates know you are interested. Meet or exceed all deadlines and expectations. Create a personal bond with the
candidate. Coordinate with your Lucas Group Account Executive to find out what other opportunities the candidate is considering
and what you need to do to be competitive. In most cases, being SWIFT and DECISIVE usually produces positive results.
