1. 1. Define the key conventions you must include on your magazine front cover, contents page
and double page spread. In order to conform to the expectations of a music magazine, the
audience you have chosen and what is expected of a music magazine. Make a check list.
Front cover
Mast head- will always stand out and the consumers eyes should be drawn to it. It should
also have a relation to the genre of music which is pop
Coverlines- Should have some link to the feautured artists in the magazine. The choosen
band or artist must attract my target audience
Main image- Should show a band or artist who will satisfy the chosen target audience of the
magazine. It should also be of the same genre as the magazine as well.
Colour scheme- Links to the genre aswell as the target audience
Contents page
Title- The title of the magazine is usually repeated including the issue date.
Features & Images- That relate to the different articles and stories.
Page numbers- Include a variety of different pages to visit. This is so the reader can find it
easier to look for certain pages and stories.
Sub-headings- Next to the page numbers to give a clear idea of what is inside the magazine
and to make it easy for the reader to navigate.
Issue number-Usually repeated to make the readers aware that it's an up to date magazine.
Colloqial Language & Bold font- which is found on most RnB and pop magazines.
Double page spread
Title- Usually big and bold telling the reader what the article is about.
Article-Based on the front covers main image.Each dps that features a celebrity should have
a story or questions and the celebrity must be of the same genre of the magazine.
The artist and main image- That may have been featured on the front cover so it links
together.
Page number and logo
Background- that matches the colour scheme.
