At the age of 16, I had won the Junior Canadian National Championships in my division and
qualified to be on the Junior National team. Being on the junior national team gave me the
opportunity to represent Canada at the 2016 Junior world taekwondo championships, which made
me feel very content, thrilled, but as well very nervous. The world championship was to be taken
place at Burnaby AB, Canada which made it even better, being in your hometown and being able to
represent the hometown country. Since Nationals had taken place in May, and Worlds would be in
November, I had quite a while to prepare for this large event. I had trained 2 hours every day from

on the first day but sadly lost close matches. I was not until the fifth day, so watching my team was
very nerve–racking and I could feel the tension in the air. Finally, on my day of competition, I was a

My second fight was against one of the best teams in the world, Iran. Round 1 of 3 vs Iran and I was
up, 2nd round we were tied, as well as the 3rd but in the last few second she had kicked me, and I
had fallen letting me lose in the round of 16, 12–10. I was so close and the girl that beat me ended

Summary of interview
The career of sports broadcasting entails someone to know a lot about sports, and hard work. I
learned during this interview with Ben Bagley how important it is to have good writing skills
(journalism) and personal skills with others around you as well as hard work ethic. I met with Ben
Bagley at the Broadcasting Building here on campus.
I had done an interview with him before, intending to get a job there at byusportstv. I got to know
Ben, and had emailed him about doing this interview. He was quick to respond and willing to be
interviewed. I chose to interview Ben Bagley, because he has many years of experience in the field
and is looking to help students here at BYU start off in this career. I felt comfortable interviewing
him because he was so glad to do it and happy to help. He even had me take part in seeing how

Princeton and Columbia's baseball teams participated in the first nationally televised sporting event.

Olympic medal count. For this year's Olympic Games in London, the Philippines sent out eleven
athletes to compete in eight sports, making it the smallest Philippine delegation at the Summer

The United States also have their own form of NSAs, but are called national sports federations. The
USOC's main focus are the athletes themselves and entering them into these competitions, while the
individual sports federations are in charge of these athlete's training of the regulation of their own
sporting community. These organizations' roles are defined and clear, much unlike in the
Philippines.
There also exists a second problem, this time, within the NSAs themselves. In an article by Gerry
Carpio, he talks about how divisions within the NSAs are causing major setbacks. In the Philippines,
NSAs can have two presidents: one to be recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee and the
other to be recognized by international committees. Carpio even goes on to state that "these two
chiefs and their followers are mortal enemies." In the article he describes an instance where feuding
within an NSA ended in disaster. A conflict between the two figures of authority forced a divide
between the athletes, and eventually started a "war" in the NSA. The constant struggle limited the
athletes' opportunities and stalled preparations for competitions. By the time the conflict had been
