2. Type of Documentary
• This was a mixed documentary as it contained
voice over, interviews and archive footage
• The themes were, investigation, 9/11, conspiracy
and who was the falling man of 9/11
• This documentary was open as it didn't
completely find out who was the falling man, it
was non-linear as it didn't follow chronological
order and it was single strand as it only followed
the story of who was the falling man
3. Camera & Editing
• There were many close ups used in interviews
with the subject placed to the right or left of
screen, also a panning shot of inside of a
house, a tilt shot of a still of the apparent
victim. The camera was placed on the bonnet
of a car
• The editing was mainly cuts and was obtrusive
4. Mise en scene
• The mise en scene of the documentary is quite
dark, and serious fitting in with the 9/11
theme also the interviewee’s were quite
smartly dressed so adding to the seriousness,
the lighting was dark so this connotes
unhappiness again fitting in with the 9/11
theme.
5. Sound & Graphics
• Sound, it was mostly silence with no backing
music, voice over spoke in standard English
with slight emotion in his voice. And a sound
bites of the radio at the start then mostly it
was the sounds of the building collapsing.
• The text was plain white text and was
positioned on the right of camera opposite to
the interviewee.
6. Achieve footage
• There was much achieve footage as the
documentary was built around it, there was
stills of the buildings on fire, footage from
camera phones, and achieve footage of the
twin towers when they were standing.
