4. The second thing you do is after you’ve made your chart, you transfer that information into your calculator. Turn on your calculator and go to the STAT button. Choose: 1:Edit…
5. Your screen should look like this now:Make sure its all cleared out, if not then arrow up to L1 and push CLEAR then ENTER.
6. Now transfer your information into L1 and L2:Check to see if they line up. If so, now push 2ND then Y=Choose the 1st one. Push ENTER.
7. Your screen should show:Arrow over where its flashing on ON and pushENTER. Next push WINDOW and correct your X and Y settings.
8. Your Xmin and Ymin should be a little smaller number than what your smallest X and Y is. *Always leave your Xres at 1.
9. Your X max and Ymax are the exact opposite. They should be a little larger numbers than your largest X and Y.
10. The last on your WINDOW screen is your Xscl and Yscl, they indicate your increments on your graph. Use more common increments like 5’s, 2’s, 1’s ect.
11. Push GRAPH Make sure you have the same amount of dots on your chart as in your table (7).
12. Check your equation! Use the equation: Y=a(x-h)^2+k Find the vertex and point:Vertex= (14,840) Point= (8,210) *Choose any point away from the vertex. The vertex is your h & k, your point is your x & y.
