2. Purpose
The purpose of this presentation is to show
my plan for teaching using different models of

3. Student Teaching Triad
University Supervisor
Cooperating Teacher
Teacher Candidate
Communication is key during student teaching.
Everyone involved in the triad needs to communicate and be on the same page to make
sure that everything goes accordingly.
Every week there will be conferences between the student teacher and the university
supervisor to make sure everything is going well and for feedback purposes.
5. Situated Learning
Content is embedded in the context, community of
practice and participation.
Learning is social, active, authentic and changes
perspective.
Learning content through activity.
Learning is social, learners become part of a community
of practice (CoP) and becomes more engaged in the
culture.
6. Cont.
The situated learning model basically means that you start on the
periphery (beginner) and work your way to the middle
(expert/mastery) by working with other teachers and students to
become a better educator.
-Working beginner to expert
-Collaboration with supervisor and cooperating teacher
-Interactions with students, teachers, administrators and other
faculty
-Engaging with tools, facilities and experienced professionals
7. Reflective Practices
There are many ways to reflect
-Video recording
- Audio recording
- Written Reflections
- PTRA (Post Teaching Reflective Analysis)
8. Cont.
Reflection is a very important tool for teachers to use
so they can become better educators.
Watching a video of yourself teaching and listening
to yourself can show you things that you could fix
that you did not know you were doing.
