 The days of lecturing teachers has passed-though not
entirely. While student-centered learning is strongly
encouraged in the 21st century. Instead of passively
receiving information, the student would gather
information on their own, under the guidance of their
teacher. Different learning styles are encouraged, and
students have enhanced sense of motivation and
responsibility. They engaged in many different types of
hands-on activities, as well as demonstrate learning in
many different ways. Learning is about discovery, not
the memorization of facts.
 Students must learn how to collaborate with others.
Society today has people collaborating across the
globe. Students should be encouraged to work
together to discover information, piece it together and
construct meaning. Collaboration should also be
dynamic. Students should learn how to recognize the
different strengths and talents
 Student-centered does not mean that the teacher gives
up all control of the classroom. While students are
encouraged to learn different ways, the teacher still
provides the guidance as to the skills that need to be
acquired. Since we are no longer to preparing students
for specific tasks and roles, we need to take more
general approach and teach them the skills that are
useful in any situation.
 Technology allows for 24/7 access to information

 Easily created and shared digital content

 Identification of Needs of the Community
 Educational technology
analyses the process of
teaching thoroughly. It
tries to find out the
different variables of
teaching their
interlinks, effects upon
each other, relationship
etc. By improving the
quality of education.
 Becoming a better teacher is
something all educators should
be concerned with. Good
teachers are effective classroom
managers and communicators
who can adapt to a variety of
learning styles and effectively
instruct a large percentage of
the class. Improvement of
teaching in the classroom can be
obtained by putting together a
plan of action and following it
through. Teachers who make the
extra effort to improve their
teaching can make a significant
impact on the lives of students
 It aims at analyzing the process of teaching-learning
thoroughly. It is also concerned with various phases of
teaching.
 It facilitates more and more of learning in less time. It
takes the help of various empirically established
generalizations from psychology, sociology, physical
science, engineering etc.
 The objectives of education are being reviewed and
revised with the passage of time. The educational
technology it helps in finding out the right objectives.
It helps enhancing the right objectives in the light of
the changed circumstances and changed environment.
 The changed type of environment with new
curriculum and new materials is to be handled by the
teachers. Right type of training to the teachers is the
need of the hour.
 Curriculum is the total teaching-learning
environment, which has to be modified and
remodeled in the light of latest thought.
 Teaching-learning materials are also important as anything
else in the teaching-learning process. They have to be in
accordance with the environment of the learners. Only
right type of materials will able to modify the behavior of
the learner suitably making him a fit person for the society.
 A strategy plays an important role in the hands of a
teacher in every teaching-learning situation. The
strategy has to be the right one, which should be
according to the materials and able to bring about the
effective learning.
 Audio-visual aids have always played an important role
in the teaching-learning process. They need be used
according to the times. The computer by using any
software is to have used in the present teaching-
learning environment.
 Educational technology helps in locating the problems in
the different areas of education. It also helps in remedying
the draw-backs. Evaluation of teaching-learning process is
also made better because through feedback, things are
improved thoroughly and there is better control over the
process of education.
 It identifies the needs of the community. It helps in
providing equal education opportunities to backward.
Educational technology aims at identifying the needs
of the community from time to time.

Instead of passively receiving information, the student would gather information on their own, under the guidance of their teacher. Different learning styles are encouraged, and students have enhanced sense of motivation and responsibility. They engaged in many different types of hands-on activities, as well as demonstrate learning in many different ways. Learning is about discovery, not the memorization of facts.
  • 4.  Students must learn how to collaborate with others. Society today has people collaborating across the globe. Students should be encouraged to work together to discover information, piece it together and construct meaning. Collaboration should also be dynamic. Students should learn how to recognize the different strengths and talents

While students are encouraged to learn different ways, the teacher still provides the guidance as to the skills that need to be acquired.
