5. Even though you’re writing a dialogue, you still
need to have some kind of introduction.
It usually consists of greetings, small talk etc.
6. It is important that you plan what your
characters will be talking about.
Choose two or three topics, in this case three
topics related to modern trends and stick to
them.
7. Decide on which path this dialogue will be taking.
Possible endings:
• Grandchild ‘loses’ argument, grandparent not convinced
• Grandparent convinced that what they had in the past is
better
• Grandchild admits to grandparent that it was better in
the past
• Grandchild ‘wins’ argument, grandparent convinced
• Grandparent willing to try out something new; buy a
new mobile phone etc...
• They both agree to disagree and decide to end the
conversation...
