2. Stuart Pearson heads with his family to spend a summer vacation in
Creek Landing, Michigan, with his brother Nathan Pearson and his
sons and their mother Rose in an old lake house they had rented.
When the television has trouble with the image, Stuart's son Tom and
the arrogant boyfriend of his sister Ricky Dillman go to the attic and
then to the roof, where Tom meets his cousin Jake and they find the
antenna dish totally destroyed. Sooner they discover four alien
invaders that are preparing an invasion of the Earth that use a mind
control weapon that only affects adults and they lock the quartet in
the attic. Now they need to a find a way to force the adults to leave
the house and discover the vulnerability of the invaders to plot a
defence plan to save our planet.

This film is a typical teenage film, it’s set in
a bed room and a house. Unlike other
films which have party scenarios, this
doesn’t. Location is a main part that
contributes to teen films; They help
portray the set identity of the character
and give them more definition.

In all films, teen or not, there has to be a main problem or
conflict that the characters face; in teen films it’s normally to
do with popularity, bullying and love. However this film is more
of a sci-fi film, so it’s more about bonding with family in order
to try and stop and alien invasion. All of the main characters
try to get rid of the aliens who are trying to take over the
world from an Attic. All these character shave to face a
major problem, this all reflects wail in the themes in this films
which are ; love, family, boding, friendship and team work.

Mise-en-scene plays a major role in the film, it allocates
different characters and distinguishes them with other
characters. All characters have their own looks for example,
their costume; The granny who wears a frock, and generally
wears easy-wear, old clothing compared to the girl teen,
who wears bikini's and shorts. Because it’s filmed in the
summer, all the characters where’s hot clothing made for
summer e.g. Shorts, sun hats, bikini's skirts and shirts.
