Nottingham Forest are 'aiming for the major' as Evangelos Marinakis wants to 'make them a success'
1. Nottingham Forest are plainly not going into this season seeking to end up being also-rans. They'll be aiming for
the most notable.
With the signings they are making, I don’t think they’re likely to be going for fourth or 5th in the table even. They
are looking for results, leading results.
I believe Evangelos Marinakis bought the golf club last year because of both celebrities on the t-shirt, the
European Cups. And due to that he’s seeking for victory and to place Nottingham Forest on the map once again.
He really wants to make Forest successful
It looks like they are trying to do what Wolves did, getting players in who are on the literature of Jorge Mendes.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Seem where Wolves are actually - it proved helpful for them.
If Forest results in the Premier League, as Wolves have, no-one will be complaining.
After the last few years, as a team, I think we are able to only progress and better.
That’s four fresh signings so far - Michael Dawson, Joao Carvalho, Diogo Goncalves and now Gil Dias.
My spouse and i don’t think there will be many followers who know about the three Portuguese players, but that
means there could not be various players in the Championship who really know what to expect either.
That can work to our advantage.
The manager, Aitor Karanka, will find out about them though, and that’s the primary thing. The scouting system
knows about them. They'll find out what they can get and how they can fit into the team.
We need to trust the manager over that. He understands what he’s doing.
It’s a good thing that they are all coming over from Portugal mutually. It’s far better that method and will
hopefully make it easier for all of them to settle in. When you get yourself a group of you alongside one another
from the same nation, you don’t experience quite so from a limb.
All three of these are small and highly regarded. They are exciting signings; players who'll ideally get the audience
on the border of their seats.
The simply question will be how quickly they get used to English football.
I think it’s sensible and good business to have earned Dias - like Goncalves - on financing deal initially.
This means Forest can easily see how he does, see how he adapts to the Championship, before deciding whether
to get him or perhaps not.
If he will the work and impresses, then Forest have the choice to signal him permanently. If he doesn’t, then he can
go back to Monaco.
You’ve not really lost anything giving him a chance. There’s a bit of leeway there.
It offers the player an opportunity to see whether he likes it over here, too. Although, I don’t understand why he
2. wouldn’t like Nottingham. It’s a great town and Forest is a superb club.
We now have to wait and see who else Karanka earns. He is aware what he’s undertaking, that’s why he’s the
manager.
You can plainly see the positions where we still have to strengthen.
We also have to get some players out; maneuver on those people who are certainly not in the manager’s plans.
I was a bit surprised to find Eric Lichaj leave, but he’s really been the only one so far.
It’s great to see attacking players sign, but I believe we must bring in lots of battling players aswell.
In the past, we’ve been bullied about the pitch a bit, but I’d hope that won’t happen this year. I’d prefer to think
we won’t be considered a soft touch.
We’ve got people like Ben Watson and Tobias Figueiredo who might help with that nowadays, and Danny Fox
offers seriously stepped https://gr.linkedin.com/in/evangelos-vangelis-marinakis up.
I’d keep Watson as captain because Michael Dawson will come in and only say his piece anyway. He won’t head
mouthing off and supplying persons a rollicking.
That’s been our problem lately, you haven’t seen persons telling the other person how to proceed.
I would like to see someone telling, ‘oi, overcome there’ or perhaps ‘get the ball away’. We’ve been too nice a
crew, so we've to commence being a tiny bit nasty.
