and songwriter born in Orio in 1942.
He´s a veteran figure
in Basque music.

in his family, but he listened
to music at home since he
was very little and he liked
it.Even so, Benito´s hobbie was
to paint and when he
finished school, he studied
at the Art and Craft School
in Zarauz.
In 1971, he published his first
long CD, titled Benito
Lertxundi, accompanied by a
guitar.
Benito´s first job was as
a carver.

He was born in the 15th of july of 1934 in San Sebastian
His music is an influence for young people
Laboa was a creative force for 35 years.
on 11 of july of 2006 he’ve got hes last
perfomance opening with Bob Dylan at a
“concert for peace”.
His album Bat-hiru was chosen in the reader poll by El
Diario Vasco.
