The Monastery of Horezu
The Monastery of Horezu is a very historic and important Cultural Heritage for the
Romanians, located in the Region of Wallachia. It was founded by the prince
Constantine Brancovan in 1960. It is known for its architectural purity and balance, the
richness of its sculptural detail, the treatment of the religious composition and its painted
decorative works.
3. NATURAL HERITAGE SITE
Danube Delta
The Danube is a very long river that passes through many countries, such as Germany,
Austria and Croatia, but its delta is in Romania, in the region of Drobuja. It is a Biosphere
Reserve and it is a very touristic place in Romania. In fact, it has the third largest
biodiversity exceeded only by the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Galapagos
Archipelago in Ecuador. Most visitors tour this beautiful reserve on ship or kayak.
