The Shootings On College Campuses
Introduction In this past year alone there have been 23 shootings on college campuses, not including incidents that have occurred at other grade level
schools. Innocent students and teachers have been injured or killed in each of these shootings. School shootings are not restricted to one geographic
area; they are spread across the United States, from Arizona to Florida to every thing in between. There is no way to tell when or where events like
this will occur, so many wonder how to prevent traumatic events like this. In the United States all 50 states have passed laws to allow concealed carry,
but only under certain restrictions and mandates. Concealed carry allows individuals the ability to carry certain concealed firearms in public. In order
to carry a concealed weapon qualified individuals must obtain a permit from a designated government authority. Certain states demand different
requirement, as well some do not allow Non–residents permits. Some state regulations may ban concealed weapons in specified places, like churches
and schools. Due to recent shootings occurring at educational institution, a number of people are asking whether this restriction is rational: Should
states permit concealed weapons on college campuses? Are guns on campus a deterrence to school shootings? The purpose of this report is to
determine if allowing carry concealed weapons on college campus is a beneficial asset. After doing substantial research on this controversial question

Bernie Sanders Civil Rights Movement
Senator Bernard Sanders is the longest–serving, independent politician in American history. He began his career as a political underdog, due to his
involvement in the Civil Rights movement. In August 1963, Sanders travelled to Washington, D.C. to take part in the March on Washington and heard
Martin Luther King Juniors historic "I Have a Dream" speech firsthand. In 1981, He gained his first political victory by becoming Mayor of Burlington,
Vermont. Since that time, Bernie has attempted to wrestle government control away from corporate interests and back to the working class, where it
belongs. Senator Bernie Sanders is an inspirational leader who has dedicated his life to the betterment of his fellow–man. Despite being in his mid

Who Was Bernie Sanders A Democratic Socialist?
When you hear the word "Democratic Socialist", who pops up in your mind? Most people probably think of Bernie Sanders. He is an amazing
Democratic Socialist, but what was it that helped him make it up to his point? What is his life story? How would the world be without him? What is
his personality? Because we all know you don't just wake up and become an extraordinary Democrat and presidential candidate.
Bernie Sanders' early life was pretty ordinary; Bernard Sanders' life started In Brooklyn, New York, He was born of Elias Sanders (father) and Dorothy
Sanders (mother) on September 8, 1941. He also lived in Brooklyn his whole childhood due to his parents' job. Bernie stated that he became interested
at politics at a very young age. He has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My argument is that it would be worse, because when he was mayor of Burlington, Bernie made many changes that made Burlington a better place.
And I believe, if Bernie was president, he would do the same for the U.S.A. When he said Bernie would make college tuition free, he really gave
young people that didn't have enough money to go to college hope that they may be able to get an education and do great things in the world. A"A
guy named Adolf Hitler won an election in 1932. He won an election, and 50 million people died as a result of that election in World War II,
including 6 million Jews. So what I learned as a little kid is that politics is, in fact, very important." said Bernie Sanders.
America really needs all of the commodities Bernie Sanders speaks of if you ask me. But the problem still remains: how will America and the
government afford all of the things Bernie Sanders said he would do? If it means raising taxes would he still be a good president. Because taxes add
up. Even though those questions are unanswered, many still believe he will make a great president. So in conclusion, the world would be worse
without Bernie in it.
So, now that you know his story, do you understand Bernie Sanders more now? Does his mission make sense now? Do you see how he made it up to
this point? And finally, do you see how he made the world a better place? But overall, he really does make our

Democrats Vs. Republicans 2016
Democrats VS Republicans 2016 How well do you know the candidate you're voting for, could they destroy our country? There are two groups that
make it to the ballot, Democrats and Republicans. The Democrat candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The Republican candidates are
Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. Every candidate has things you might disagree with but they might have things you like, you should vote
on the one you think is the lesser of two evils based on them and not a bias opinion. I took the time to find where they stand on three topics,
immigrants, abortion, and guns. There are many more issues that they stand, I just want to give you a general idea so you can vote when you're
educated on the topic. Here are the candidates and where each individual stands. Hillary Clinton is a democrat. She want to make it so that immigrants
can continue staying here, according to this quote "I 'll end family detention, close private immigrant detention centers." by closing the centers that
accuse them of being here illegally. "As president, I 'll stand up for Planned Parenthood and women's access to critical health services, including safe,
legal abortion." according to this quote she is pro–abortion. The same source says, "I 'll take on the gun lobby and fight for commonsense reforms."
this is stating that she doesn't want to make guns illegal she just wants to make them harder to get so that they can't fall into the wrong hands. Based on
these issues

Anonymous Serial Killer: Ted Bundy
Have you ever heard of a notorious murderer who consistently commits a crime with no hesitation? Whether you have or not, you are in for a rude
awakening. Ted Bundy is one of the most well–known serial killers in America. He is a rapist and a necrophile who assaulted several women during
the 1970's. His persona and deranged character made him fearful across the United States. He was born to a single mother who told him that she was
his sister. His grandparents raised him and convinced him that they were his parents throughout his childhood years. People portrayed Bundy as a
charming, intelligent, and an appealing person. How could Bundy be so violent if his peers thought otherwise of him? The question will forever
remain anonymous. Because of his actions, Ted Bundy is a sadistic, unemotional, and insane criminal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He developed a deep depression and began murdering women of the same description as his former companion. Research shows that he could carry
out his criminal acts by using his good looks to get them into his yellow Volkswagen Beetle. Research also shows he would impersonate law
enforcement officers and pull over young women and then go ahead to assault them, forcing them into the trunk of his car. This goes to show why Ted
Bundy is the sadistic person that people perceive him as. The infamous serial killer could be described as charming and friendly, but his actions proved
otherwise.
In addition to raping women, Ted would bite and hit them on the head with dangerous objects. Ted Bundy obviously saw no wrong in what he was
doing. He consistently murdered women with no signs of remorse or guilt. His lack of parental guidance and confusion as a child may have led to his
violent ways. Ted Bundy didn't care about the aftermath of his actions. He believed that killing people would help mend his broken heart. This shows
that Bundy was passionless about the lives of

Persuasive Essay On Gun Restrictions
Gun Restrictions in the United States
According to United States's current death toll So far in 2017 there has been more than 9000 people killed by those who have the right to be able to
carry concealed weapons. If this issue doesn't get stopped soon more and more innocent people will continue to keep on getting killed by guns. If
enough people stand up for this law than people would not have to worry about letting their kids go to school without losing their life. Gun restrictions
in the United States should be tightened because if not so more and more people will be killed due to people being able to carry concealed weapons.
There are many reasons why gun restrictions should be tightened so are some examples on why they should be tightened. According to Katie Zezima,
journalist from the Washington Post, in an article from October 20, "A Boston University school of Public health discovered that states that give law
enforcement officials wide discretion to decide who can receive a concealed weapon carry has lower gun deaths than those who don't" (A shall state
is a state that allows residents to carry concealed weapons without a license, May–issue states requires the public to have a license to carry concealed

Descriptive Essay On Vermont
Vermont as a state is growing on me and I definitely feel a sense of place here. Ever since I visited Burlington I have been comfortable, the mountains
and the lake are the main reason for my comfort. I remember being amazed looking in either direction and seeing the endless mountain ranges on the
horizon, this was something I knew I could get used to. Perhaps the biggest reason I enjoy living in Burlington is it has a lot more going on than my
hometown and also has a lot less going on at the same time. By this I mean, you can head downtown and feel the slight hecticness of a city or you can
travel a half hour outside of Burlington and be surrounded by natural areas with little human population. I see Burlington, and Vermontin general as the
best of both worlds. It's hard to pick a specific area of Vermont that has the deepest connection with me, almost every spot I visit sparks a sense of
wonder within me. From the Burlington waterfront to the peaks at Stowe I always feel secure and at home in Vermont. On a typical winter's day I
am feeling the effects of the cold air mostly through the wind. I can especially taste the crispness of the Vermont air as its refreshing more so than it is
unbearable. When I'm up on the mountain during snowboard season I look out and see a field of white that encapsulates everything except the green
treetops. A sight that often leaves me filled with energy and mental clarity, I can't help myself but fall into deep thought whenever I am up on

Case Study : Theodore Robert Bundy
Shamariah Harding Criminal Justice Mrs. Hickox 25 April 2015 Theodore Robert Bundy was a man originally known by many in the 1960 to 1970s
society as a friendly, intelligent, upstanding individual. His very name seems welcoming, even alluring. In fact, his lure was the way a portion of his
many victims fell prey to his "handsome" smile. Heartbreaker would be a mild title for this man; skull–breaker seems to be the more accurate
approach. Theodore was a man who was convicted and later confessed to many counts of rape and murder on over 30 college aged women in the
Utah, Oregan, Washington, California, Colorado, and Florida areas. Could anyone have predicted the route this University of Washington graduate's
life would take? None can say... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ted did, in fact, exhibit disturbing behaver from time to time. Julia, Ted's aunt, recalls one day specifically where she awoke from a nap to find herself
surrounded by knives from the Cowell kitchen. Much to her surprise, her three–year–old nephew was standing by the bed, smiling. In 1950, Eleanor,
Ted's mother, moved to Tacoma, Washington, taking Ted along with her. Many individuals believe Samuel's rage and abuse were what triggered
her departure. A year after moving to Washington, Eleanor met and married a man by the name of Johnny Bundy, which is where Ted got the last
name he is known by today. After their marriage, Eleanor (who began to go by her middle name, Louise) and Johnny had more children, whom
Ted spent much of his time babysitting. In his elementary and high school years, Ted was a good student, excelling academically. On a social level,
Bundy was introverted and shy; he admitted that "he 'hit a wall' in high school" and "was unable to understand social behavior." Ted had "no natural
sense of how to get along with other people, saying, 'I didn 't know what made things tick. I didn 't know what made people want to be friends. I didn
't know what made people attractive to one another'" (clarkprosecutor.org). Although Ted kept up a convincing façade of being a normal teenager, he

From 2003–2012 the industry value added to the GDP and the Industry Sales Data have consistently gone up. In 2007–2008, both these factors took a

What Should America Do For The Tax Proposals Offered By...
What should America do in reference to the tax proposals offered by our 2016 presidential candidates? The support groups of these proposals differ
quite drastically. While some candidates offer a flat tax rate, or a tax rate that doesn't offer much substantial impact, Senator Bernie Sanders offers
America a complete tax reform. Sander 's tax proposal declares that it is crucial for the economy of America to decrease the gap between the very
rich, and the middle class, therefore, Sanders wants to enforce a tax increase on households making more than $250,000. The tax proposal Bernie
Sanders wants to perform is essential for America in order to guarantee every citizen healthcare, provide a stepping stone for debt free college, and to
properly strengthen the less wealthy.
The impact of Sander 's proposal of increasing taxes for those much wealthy have to be taken into consideration. Bernie Sanders insists on American
citizens to agree with his plan to increase the estate tax on the top three–tenths of one percent of Americans who obtain more than 3.5 million dollars.
The large corporations, and companies who are a part of that percent must pay their equal share of taxes. Because these corporations shift their jobs,
and earnings overseas, these corporations bypass paying millions in taxes. The amount of tax revenue these corporations would bring in if they paid
their taxes is a heavy amount of six hundred and twenty billion dollars. This large amount collected can be properly

Guns : Students Now Armed On College Campuses
Guns: Students Now Armed on College Campuses On June 13, 2015, the state of Texas, state legislature passed Senate Bill 11 (S.B. 11). With the
passage of S.B. 11 Texas joined seven other states (Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Utah, and Wisconsin) that allow or have provisions
that allow for the carry of concealed weapons on public campuses (National Conference of State Legislature, 2015). For a majority of higher education
history, both states and individual institutions have banned weapons from being carried on campus. Recent school tragedies are pushing the idea that
students, staff, and faculty should be able to protect themselves (National Conference of State Legislature, 2015). Two questions are still debated
though:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper will then analyze how guns on campus pertain to student affairs professionals who work in these environments and how theory can help
guide them to beneficial outcomes for both parties. I will propose two possible actions that student affairs professionals can utilize that will help guide
them in their decision–making. Background Information According to the National Conference of State Legislature (NCSL), states are considering or
already implementing new gun policies on college campuses because of recent school shootings taking place across American universities (NCSL,
2015). Focusing on the newest passed legislation S.B. 11 that states "A license holder may carry a concealed handgun on or about the license holder's
person while the license holder is on the campus of an institution of higher education or private or independent institution of higher education in this
state" (S. 11, 2015). S.B. 11 also has provisions that state a public institution of higher education in the state of Texas may not adopt any rule,
regulation or other provision that prohibits license holders from carrying handguns on the campus of the institution (S. 11, 2015). There are two
competing sides to the argument of allowing guns on college campuses. The first point of view sees that a relaxation in gun policy and that allowing
concealed weapons would

Greed, Exploitation, And Division Of The Black Class
As Pope Benedict XVI famously stated, "Our world has grown weary of greed, exploitation and division, of the tedium of false idols and piecemeal
responses, and the pain of false promises." His ideas are especially true in modern society. Greed refers to the intense desire for something, particularly
wealth and power. The desire for materialism has acted as a catalyst for greed to become prevalent in society, especially in theUnited States of America.
The presence of greed in the upper–class dates back to as early as the 1820's when wealthy oil businessmen exploited sailors into working in
extremely dangerous conditions for their own self interest (Philbrick). The greed present in the wealthiest families in the nation has established a
detrimental division between the wealthy and the poor. The gap is only growing further and further apart, as greed constructs the desire for the rich to
become richer resulting in the poor becoming poorer (JBW). As of right now, the United States has the worst income equality out of all the developed
countries in the world (Gongloff).
Unfortunately, we don't have enough people in our federal government looking for opportunities to change our ways. The laws present in our
government don't do enough in preventing the wealth gap in our nation from increasing; in fact, since President Obama took office in 2008, the top
1% of our country reels in 90% of all income gains (Hill). As a nation and a people, we must elect members running for

Research Paper On Ted Bundy
Early Life Ted Bundy was born Theodore Robert Cowell on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. His mother was Eleanor Louise Cowell
and his real fathers identity has never been discovered. Because of this Bundy lived with his grandparents in Philadelphia for three years with his
mother; this was because of the social stigma of birth outside wedlock. People described Bundy's grandfather Samuel Cowell was a bully and bigot
who was a giant racist who beat his wife, but for some reason Ted Bundy has said that he respected and clung to his grandfather. This could be a
reason why Ted Bundy was so psychotic; I believe he learned some of his behavior from his aggressive and dangerous grandfather. Bundy's mother's
sister who was living with them; recalls times where she would wake up from a nap and there would be knives all over the bed and Ted was standing
next to the bed just smiling. In 1951 Ted and his mother moved to Tacoma,Washington where Ted's mother met his soon to be step dad Johnny
Culpepper Bundy. Johnny and Louise married later the same year and Johnny adopted Ted as well; this is where Ted Bundy got his last name. Ted
Bundy stayed distant from Johnny Bundy and when Ted was older, he stated to friends and his girlfriend at the time that Johnny was not his real

What is a serial killer? The Urban Dictionary defines a serial killer as a person who kills three or more people at different times with a cooling off
period in between.
Theodore (Ted) Bundy was born on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. Ted's mother Eleanor Cowell, gave birth to him at the age of 22
years old. She was not married. They soon moved to Philadelphia to be with his mother's parents. Bundy was eventually adopted by his grandparents.
Ted was lied to by his family members by telling him that his mother was his older sister.
From looking at the family on the outside, all seemed perfectly normal. Ted started taking interest in knives at an early age. Bundy was shy but very
intelligent. When he became a teenager he started getting into trouble by means of theft and peeping into windows of women. All of his charges were
dropped when he turned the age of eighteen.

variety of difficult circumstances lead millions to seek safety in new societies where they are forced to create a new life. Since 1989, over 7,000 men,
women, and children have come to Vermontthrough a federal refugee resettlement program. This number includes Bosnians, Bhutanese, Burmese, and
Africans fleeing violence in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Somalia and Sudan. In 2015, 312 refugees arrived in Vermont, and
more refugees have arrived since then. Most of these refugees are resettled in Burlington and surrounding towns (which make up Chittenden County),
as Burlington hosts the state's refugee resettlement agency. The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants recently committed to resettling 110,000
refugees around the word over the next year, including 450 refugees to Vermont. (USCRI, 2016).
Yacouba Jacob Bogre, the Executive Director of the Association of Africans Living in Vermont, states that their goal is to help refugees and new
Americans rebuild a safe life. While Bogre believes that many refugees are proud to call Vermont home, he also shares that people sometimes have a
difficult time accepting new cultures. He comments that people become frightened when they do not have opportunities to "share their

The Issue And Effect Of Extra Constitutional Actors On Gun...
Throughout the United States the policy process is the same. It starts with extra–constitutional actors, which are political parties, media, public opinion,
and interest groups. These actors find a problem or issue and effect policy makers to get it known. These policy makers then use their concerns and
create policy. The policy is then implemented by the bureaucracy in some way. The people and these extra–constitutional actors then evaluate this
policy. Some may like it and let it be, while others may start the process all over again. According to Smith, "the states share similar political
structures and follow the same overall set of rules, but they make different choices" (Smith, 8). This means that all states have a similar policy
process, but that they still have different laws. This can be seen in how they create laws on guns. Each state has different gun laws and this is due to
the effect of extra–constitutional actors in each state. Extra–constitutional actors affect the policy process in regard to gun laws in each state
differently. In this paper, this will be looked at by using the comparative method. According to Smith, the comparative method "uses similarities and
differences as the basis for systematic explanation" (Smith, 7). The comparative method will be used by looking at how each extra–constitutional actor
has effected gun laws in each state recently and comparing them. From this it should be seen they have all created different gun laws in the state from

Ted Bundy Case
Criminal Case Study Theodore Bundy, also known as Ted, was born on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont to Eleanor Cowell who
secretly was ashamed. Eleanor was a 22 year old single mother whose parents were very religious and humiliated of Ted. After Ted was born,
Eleanor brought him to her parents who lived in Philadelphia, where he was raised as the adoptive son of his grandparents. This led to his real mom
being called his sister. A few years later, Eleanor and Ted moved to Tacoma, Washington where Eleanor married Johnnie Bundy in 1951. As far as
everyone knew, Ted grew up in a working–class, Christian family that cared and loved for him.
Ted was a shy, bright kid who did very well in school, but not as much with his peers. Around the age of three Ted had caught an interest in knives
and as a teenager he would walk around at night looking for discarded pornography or open windows to view women through. He attended the
University of Washington where he fell in love with a pretty young woman who had long, dark brown hair and was from California. She had wealth,

All of the writers were great but the three I think you should use again are, Ian Frazier, Leslie Silko, and Gore Vidal. These three writers wrote
about some of the top discussed topics that are cycling around the United States. Frazier wrote about common heroism, and how anybody can be a
hero. Silko wrote about whether or not carrying a concealed weapon should be legal or not, and the dangers if someone with improper training of a
concealed weapon can be. Vidal wrote about whether or not drugs should be legalized, and the effects it will have on people. I have heard each of
those topics in the news, on the radio, and on TV. They are three big topics that people should definitely be reading on and learning about, and have

know how to use it, and to start moving away from that person. Silko's article is a very good article and has a very good point, that they should
have special classes and harder training for people to get a concealed weapons permit. I believe this article should for sure be allowed to be used in
this comp I class. It explains a very good point that a gun in the hands of someone who does not know how to use it, creates a very dangerous
situation. For instance the shooting at the elementary school in Colorado, if that man's mother would have had better instruction on how to lock up
and store her guns, then maybe her son wouldn't have been able to get ahold of them so easily and have been able to kill and harm the many people
he did. Finally Gore Vidal, he has written the article "drugs" which is his case in why marijuana should be legalized. This topic has been mentioned on
the radio many times in just the past few weeks, and many people are fighting to have this topic on the next year's ballet. Well Vidal describes that he,
himself, has experimented with just about every drug including opium "disproving the popular Fu Manchu theory

American Law Essay
Throughout the United States there are many different laws among the fifty states that make up this union. The laws are different throughout the
states because of the need of the laws. Living in one state and not having the advantages or disadvantages of a law in another state would not be
that unfair or unequal. This is true because if you don't like a law in your state you could always fight it and try to change it or you could always
move out of that state and go to one that has the laws that you like. One of the big issues in life today is gun safety. Due to the recent high school
shootings many legislatures are pushing for stricter gun laws. In Montana you can't carry a concealed weapon inside city, town or logging camp limits
but if... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next door to Vermont we have the state of New Hampshire where the law is similar except one part. If you are a first offender with a blood
alcohol level of 0.08 your license is suspended for 6 months. Why is it like that? Who knows, but it isn't that unfair. If you are drinking and driving
you should be taught a lesson even if one state thinks it only takes a week and the other thinks it takes half a year. If your in Virginia and are sitting
at home and are bored you can turn on your police scanner and find out what is going on around town. As long as you aren't helping in a felony there
is nothing wrong with it. In New York it is a different story, it is illegal to posses a police scanner. That isn't unfair because in New York they are trying
to keep police business police business and not citizens' business. As I said at first the states in this union have many different laws but none of them
are written in stone. With a little determination people are able to change law that they aren't happy with and that is why the laws in effect aren't unfair.
Anyway if you follow your own state laws you shouldn't have to worry how fair or unfair they are. Work Cited

Edan Bunnymund Research Paper
The events leading up to Edan Bunnymund's birth were anything but extraordinary. The Bunnymund clan was one of humble origins that originally

anyone who knew them could predict their future union. They married shortly after Astor's eighteenth birthday and were expecting their first child two

him. It almost seemed as though he went from crawling to full on running without any transition. No surface was unobtainable as he climbed over
furniture, hid under beds, and explored every corner of the Bunnymund's tiny apartment. When his sister Ashley came along the boundless Edan now
had a partner to join him on his daily adventures. As all proper older brothers should, Edan was very protective of Ashley, which in turn curbed some...

The Lottery Shirley Jackson Analysis
The Haunted House of Fiction
When "The Lottery" begins, nothing seems unusual about this community, no hint of what is to come, or how heinous an act is about to occur. As
they ready themselves for what seems to be a cheerful event, preparing as if to win something valuable, rather than to lose this lottery, eagerness and
enthusiasm fill the air. The tradition this community has been following, is overly duteous, more sheep like, illustrating the extent to which people
will go to fit in, to be part of a crowd, to feel accepted. The theme of this story is a reflection on some of Shirley Jackson's life, from her experiences as
a wife in a small community in conjunction with her perspective of the events of WW II.
Jackson was born in San Francisco and grew up in an affluent middle–class community. Looking at the way in which Shirley Jackson begins this short
story is telling how she describes the unmistakable charm of this village, with its folks gathering in the square, between two of the most village like the
buildings anyone could image, a post office and a bank. After marrying Stanley Hyman, she moved into a similar community, NorthBennington,
Vermont, which for all intents and purposes, was as quaint a town as the village described in "The Lottery," with all its blossoming flowers and rich
green grass. According to www.northbennington.org, the idea for writing "The Lottery" came to Jackson while she finished running errands one bright
spring morning, not unlike the

A Diverse Pool Of Candidates

16 September 2015
This upcoming presidential election includes a diverse pool of candidates, with a wide variety of opinions coming from different backgrounds. There is
one candidate that stands out among the rest: Vermont senatorBernie Sanders. He has decades of experience in politics, which is immensely
important for someone holding the position of President. During his time in public service he has demonstrated that he is committed, strong,
productive, fair, and honest. Sanders relies on his policies and ideas significantly more than flaunting a charming personality to gain support, and
he is able to do this because he has always put a lot of consideration into the decisions he makes. Furthermore, he has always been a strong supporter
of quality of opportunity, which is the political ideal advocating the view that the assignment of individuals to places in the social hierarchy is
determined by some form of competitive process; all members of society are eligible to compete on equal terms. As president, Sanders would take
many steps toward improving this aspect of society. He recognizes that currently there is great disparity in the balance of power, and he has
consistently fought towards making the U.S.A. a country where everyone is well taken care of and has access to what they need. If Sanders becomes
president, he will fight for everyone to have an equal chance of achieving their own American Dream. One of

Persuasive Essay On Henrietta Lacks
Have you ever wondered what scientists use to test diseases on? Scientists use the "immortal cells" of cancer victim Henrietta Lacks to test various
diseases and infections. Science, a never ending quest of destruction and salvation, throughout history many historical figures such as Henrietta Lacks,
Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage have sacrificed much to feed it's endless hunger. Science is like a great and powerful king that shall never be
slain, it forever saves it's people but at the same time causing destruction among the enemy. Henrietta Lacks has had greater adversities in the
course of contributions to science (feeding the beast) over Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage. The cliche phrase "Heroes never die" proves true
for Henrietta Lacks, over Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage. The story of Gage, Mawson, and Lacks are all interesting topics, but the Lacks still
faced the most adversity out of the three. Henrietta Lacks lost her life for science, faced great pain during her life, and a slow mental deterioration
from knowing with almost all certainty that she would die. Meanwhile, Mawson led an arctic exploration, and somehow survived with his life. Gage
had a horrible accident and somehow "fully" recovered from it. Lacks faced the most adversity due to some quite "unethical" actions from people
around her and from nature itself, sometimes life just does not work out and that was true in Lack's case. The most important fact that Lacks faced the
most adversity over

Jeff Arnold 10 Is Climate Change impacting Vermont? Is Climate Change affecting the state of Vermont? First we need to find out what professionals
are defining the term climate change as. Some people want to refer to climate change as specifically air temperature increases. But "Global Warming"
refers to the long term warming of the planet. Global temperature shows a well–documented rise since the early 20th century and most notably since
the late 1970s. Worldwide, since 1880 the average surface temperature has gone up by about 0.8В°C(1.4В°F), relative to the mid–20th–century

Through looking at recorded snow fall totals, Lake Freeze overs, and agriculture impacts one is able to start seeing trends in environmental changes.
By looking at record snow fall records we can get a sense of historical air temperature and see how a specific location has been warming. Lake
Freeze over data also gives good indications of an average air temperature increase. But there are still many people in this world that doubt that
climate change is real. Yes earth goes through different periods of time where the climate has changed drastically. Look at the Ice Age, there was a
time where a huge glacier stretched all the way across Vermont and in some places that glacier was 2 miles thick. Take for example, former Texas
governor Rick Perry, who is in charge of the Department of Energy stated in 2011 that, "Global warming was an unproven scientific
theory."(Sidahmed, M. (2016, December 15). To the new presidential administration the topic of climate change has been looked at as a joke or even
as a false idea. What we now know with the amounts of glaciers residing and the rise in temperatures and sea levels I believe that this subject is a
bigger topic than what they believe. This subject needs to be taken seriously and we as humans need to take responsibility for some of our actions that
have impacted climate change. I strongly disagree with many different actions that our president has taken regarding the issue

Essay On Bernie Sanders
Bernie Sanders once said "Finally, let [us] understand that when we stand together, we will always win. When men and women stand together for
justice, we win. When black, white and Hispanic people stand together for justice, we win." Bernie Sanders started as a young activist fighting to
desegregate and end the Vietnam war, As he got older he dwelled into politics and became a self identified socialist; he competed against corporate
backing and a corrupt political system yet remained true to his beliefs of Universal Health Care System, affordable education, better social security and
welfare, the right for a woman to choose what she wants for her body, cares for the environment, but most importantly,Bernie Sanders believes in

community together with public beaches and parks, a boathouse, community gardens, and campsites; this area is now home to many events and
conservation efforts and is a tourist destination to visiting Vermont. In 1987, Bernie Sanders was voted as one of the best mayors in America by the

College Campus Concealed Carry Debate

  • 1. The Shootings On College Campuses Introduction In this past year alone there have been 23 shootings on college campuses, not including incidents that have occurred at other grade level schools. Innocent students and teachers have been injured or killed in each of these shootings. School shootings are not restricted to one geographic area; they are spread across the United States, from Arizona to Florida to every thing in between. There is no way to tell when or where events like this will occur, so many wonder how to prevent traumatic events like this. In the United States all 50 states have passed laws to allow concealed carry, but only under certain restrictions and mandates. Concealed carry allows individuals the ability to carry certain concealed firearms in public. In order to carry a concealed weapon qualified individuals must obtain a permit from a designated government authority. Certain states demand different requirement, as well some do not allow Non–residents permits. Some state regulations may ban concealed weapons in specified places, like churches and schools. Due to recent shootings occurring at educational institution, a number of people are asking whether this restriction is rational: Should states permit concealed weapons on college campuses? Are guns on campus a deterrence to school shootings? The purpose of this report is to determine if allowing carry concealed weapons on college campus is a beneficial asset. After doing substantial research on this controversial question my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Bernie Sanders Civil Rights Movement Senator Bernard Sanders is the longest–serving, independent politician in American history. He began his career as a political underdog, due to his involvement in the Civil Rights movement. In August 1963, Sanders travelled to Washington, D.C. to take part in the March on Washington and heard Martin Luther King Juniors historic "I Have a Dream" speech firsthand. In 1981, He gained his first political victory by becoming Mayor of Burlington, Vermont. Since that time, Bernie has attempted to wrestle government control away from corporate interests and back to the working class, where it belongs. Senator Bernie Sanders is an inspirational leader who has dedicated his life to the betterment of his fellow–man. Despite being in his mid seventies, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Who Was Bernie Sanders A Democratic Socialist? When you hear the word "Democratic Socialist", who pops up in your mind? Most people probably think of Bernie Sanders. He is an amazing Democratic Socialist, but what was it that helped him make it up to his point? What is his life story? How would the world be without him? What is his personality? Because we all know you don't just wake up and become an extraordinary Democrat and presidential candidate. Bernie Sanders' early life was pretty ordinary; Bernard Sanders' life started In Brooklyn, New York, He was born of Elias Sanders (father) and Dorothy Sanders (mother) on September 8, 1941. He also lived in Brooklyn his whole childhood due to his parents' job. Bernie stated that he became interested at politics at a very young age. He has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My argument is that it would be worse, because when he was mayor of Burlington, Bernie made many changes that made Burlington a better place. And I believe, if Bernie was president, he would do the same for the U.S.A. When he said Bernie would make college tuition free, he really gave young people that didn't have enough money to go to college hope that they may be able to get an education and do great things in the world. A"A guy named Adolf Hitler won an election in 1932. He won an election, and 50 million people died as a result of that election in World War II, including 6 million Jews. So what I learned as a little kid is that politics is, in fact, very important." said Bernie Sanders. America really needs all of the commodities Bernie Sanders speaks of if you ask me. But the problem still remains: how will America and the government afford all of the things Bernie Sanders said he would do? If it means raising taxes would he still be a good president. Because taxes add up. Even though those questions are unanswered, many still believe he will make a great president. So in conclusion, the world would be worse without Bernie in it. So, now that you know his story, do you understand Bernie Sanders more now? Does his mission make sense now? Do you see how he made it up to this point? And finally, do you see how he made the world a better place? But overall, he really does make our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Democrats Vs. Republicans 2016 Democrats VS Republicans 2016 How well do you know the candidate you're voting for, could they destroy our country? There are two groups that make it to the ballot, Democrats and Republicans. The Democrat candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The Republican candidates are Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. Every candidate has things you might disagree with but they might have things you like, you should vote on the one you think is the lesser of two evils based on them and not a bias opinion. I took the time to find where they stand on three topics, immigrants, abortion, and guns. There are many more issues that they stand, I just want to give you a general idea so you can vote when you're educated on the topic. Here are the candidates and where each individual stands. Hillary Clinton is a democrat. She want to make it so that immigrants can continue staying here, according to this quote "I 'll end family detention, close private immigrant detention centers." by closing the centers that accuse them of being here illegally. "As president, I 'll stand up for Planned Parenthood and women's access to critical health services, including safe, legal abortion." according to this quote she is pro–abortion. The same source says, "I 'll take on the gun lobby and fight for commonsense reforms." this is stating that she doesn't want to make guns illegal she just wants to make them harder to get so that they can't fall into the wrong hands. Based on these issues ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Anonymous Serial Killer: Ted Bundy Have you ever heard of a notorious murderer who consistently commits a crime with no hesitation? Whether you have or not, you are in for a rude awakening. Ted Bundy is one of the most well–known serial killers in America. He is a rapist and a necrophile who assaulted several women during the 1970's. His persona and deranged character made him fearful across the United States. He was born to a single mother who told him that she was his sister. His grandparents raised him and convinced him that they were his parents throughout his childhood years. People portrayed Bundy as a charming, intelligent, and an appealing person. How could Bundy be so violent if his peers thought otherwise of him? The question will forever remain anonymous. Because of his actions, Ted Bundy is a sadistic, unemotional, and insane criminal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He developed a deep depression and began murdering women of the same description as his former companion. Research shows that he could carry out his criminal acts by using his good looks to get them into his yellow Volkswagen Beetle. Research also shows he would impersonate law enforcement officers and pull over young women and then go ahead to assault them, forcing them into the trunk of his car. This goes to show why Ted Bundy is the sadistic person that people perceive him as. The infamous serial killer could be described as charming and friendly, but his actions proved otherwise. In addition to raping women, Ted would bite and hit them on the head with dangerous objects. Ted Bundy obviously saw no wrong in what he was doing. He consistently murdered women with no signs of remorse or guilt. His lack of parental guidance and confusion as a child may have led to his violent ways. Ted Bundy didn't care about the aftermath of his actions. He believed that killing people would help mend his broken heart. This shows that Bundy was passionless about the lives of ... • 6. Persuasive Essay On Gun Restrictions Gun Restrictions in the United States According to United States's current death toll So far in 2017 there has been more than 9000 people killed by those who have the right to be able to carry concealed weapons. If this issue doesn't get stopped soon more and more innocent people will continue to keep on getting killed by guns. If enough people stand up for this law than people would not have to worry about letting their kids go to school without losing their life. Gun restrictions in the United States should be tightened because if not so more and more people will be killed due to people being able to carry concealed weapons. There are many reasons why gun restrictions should be tightened so are some examples on why they should be tightened. According to Katie Zezima, journalist from the Washington Post, in an article from October 20, "A Boston University school of Public health discovered that states that give law enforcement officials wide discretion to decide who can receive a concealed weapon carry has lower gun deaths than those who don't" (A shall state is a state that allows residents to carry concealed weapons without a license, May–issue states requires the public to have a license to carry concealed weapons. • 7. Descriptive Essay On Vermont Vermont as a state is growing on me and I definitely feel a sense of place here. Ever since I visited Burlington I have been comfortable, the mountains and the lake are the main reason for my comfort. I remember being amazed looking in either direction and seeing the endless mountain ranges on the horizon, this was something I knew I could get used to. Perhaps the biggest reason I enjoy living in Burlington is it has a lot more going on than my hometown and also has a lot less going on at the same time. By this I mean, you can head downtown and feel the slight hecticness of a city or you can travel a half hour outside of Burlington and be surrounded by natural areas with little human population. I see Burlington, and Vermontin general as the best of both worlds. It's hard to pick a specific area of Vermont that has the deepest connection with me, almost every spot I visit sparks a sense of wonder within me. From the Burlington waterfront to the peaks at Stowe I always feel secure and at home in Vermont. On a typical winter's day I am feeling the effects of the cold air mostly through the wind. I can especially taste the crispness of the Vermont air as its refreshing more so than it is unbearable. When I'm up on the mountain during snowboard season I look out and see a field of white that encapsulates everything except the green treetops. A sight that often leaves me filled with energy and mental clarity, I can't help myself but fall into deep thought whenever I am up on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Case Study : Theodore Robert Bundy Shamariah Harding Criminal Justice Mrs. Hickox 25 April 2015 Theodore Robert Bundy was a man originally known by many in the 1960 to 1970s society as a friendly, intelligent, upstanding individual. His very name seems welcoming, even alluring. In fact, his lure was the way a portion of his many victims fell prey to his "handsome" smile. Heartbreaker would be a mild title for this man; skull–breaker seems to be the more accurate approach. Theodore was a man who was convicted and later confessed to many counts of rape and murder on over 30 college aged women in the Utah, Oregan, Washington, California, Colorado, and Florida areas. Much to her surprise, her three–year–old nephew was standing by the bed, smiling. In 1950, Eleanor, Ted's mother, moved to Tacoma, Washington, taking Ted along with her. Many individuals believe Samuel's rage and abuse were what triggered her departure. A year after moving to Washington, Eleanor met and married a man by the name of Johnny Bundy, which is where Ted got the last name he is known by today. After their marriage, Eleanor (who began to go by her middle name, Louise) and Johnny had more children, whom Ted spent much of his time babysitting. In his elementary and high school years, Ted was a good student, excelling academically. On a social level, Bundy was introverted and shy; he admitted that "he 'hit a wall' in high school" and "was unable to understand social behavior." Ted had "no natural sense of how to get along with other people, saying, 'I didn 't know what made things tick. I didn 't know what made people want to be friends. • 11. What Should America Do For The Tax Proposals Offered By... What should America do in reference to the tax proposals offered by our 2016 presidential candidates? The support groups of these proposals differ quite drastically. While some candidates offer a flat tax rate, or a tax rate that doesn't offer much substantial impact, Senator Bernie Sanders offers America a complete tax reform. Sander 's tax proposal declares that it is crucial for the economy of America to decrease the gap between the very rich, and the middle class, therefore, Sanders wants to enforce a tax increase on households making more than $250,000. The tax proposal Bernie Sanders wants to perform is essential for America in order to guarantee every citizen healthcare, provide a stepping stone for debt free college, and to properly strengthen the less wealthy. The impact of Sander 's proposal of increasing taxes for those much wealthy have to be taken into consideration. Bernie Sanders insists on American citizens to agree with his plan to increase the estate tax on the top three–tenths of one percent of Americans who obtain more than 3.5 million dollars. The large corporations, and companies who are a part of that percent must pay their equal share of taxes. Because these corporations shift their jobs, and earnings overseas, these corporations bypass paying millions in taxes. The amount of tax revenue these corporations would bring in if they paid their taxes is a heavy amount of six hundred and twenty billion dollars. This large amount collected can be properly ... • 12. Guns : Students Now Armed On College Campuses Guns: Students Now Armed on College Campuses On June 13, 2015, the state of Texas, state legislature passed Senate Bill 11 (S.B. 11). With the passage of S.B. 11 Texas joined seven other states (Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Utah, and Wisconsin) that allow or have provisions that allow for the carry of concealed weapons on public campuses (National Conference of State Legislature, 2015). For a majority of higher education history, both states and individual institutions have banned weapons from being carried on campus. Recent school tragedies are pushing the idea that students, staff, and faculty should be able to protect themselves (National Conference of State Legislature, 2015). Two questions are still debated though:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This paper will then analyze how guns on campus pertain to student affairs professionals who work in these environments and how theory can help guide them to beneficial outcomes for both parties. I will propose two possible actions that student affairs professionals can utilize that will help guide them in their decision–making. Background Information According to the National Conference of State Legislature (NCSL), states are considering or already implementing new gun policies on college campuses because of recent school shootings taking place across American universities (NCSL, 2015). Focusing on the newest passed legislation S.B. 11 that states "A license holder may carry a concealed handgun on or about the license holder's person while the license holder is on the campus of an institution of higher education or private or independent institution of higher education in this state" (S. 11, 2015). S.B. 11 also has provisions that state a public institution of higher education in the state of Texas may not adopt any rule, regulation or other provision that prohibits license holders from carrying handguns on the campus of the institution (S. 11, 2015). There are two competing sides to the argument of allowing guns on college campuses. The first point of view sees that a relaxation in gun policy and that allowing concealed weapons would ... • 13. Greed, Exploitation, And Division Of The Black Class As Pope Benedict XVI famously stated, "Our world has grown weary of greed, exploitation and division, of the tedium of false idols and piecemeal responses, and the pain of false promises." His ideas are especially true in modern society. Greed refers to the intense desire for something, particularly wealth and power. The desire for materialism has acted as a catalyst for greed to become prevalent in society, especially in theUnited States of America. The presence of greed in the upper–class dates back to as early as the 1820's when wealthy oil businessmen exploited sailors into working in extremely dangerous conditions for their own self interest (Philbrick). The greed present in the wealthiest families in the nation has established a detrimental division between the wealthy and the poor. The gap is only growing further and further apart, as greed constructs the desire for the rich to become richer resulting in the poor becoming poorer (JBW). As of right now, the United States has the worst income equality out of all the developed countries in the world (Gongloff). Unfortunately, we don't have enough people in our federal government looking for opportunities to change our ways. The laws present in our government don't do enough in preventing the wealth gap in our nation from increasing; in fact, since President Obama took office in 2008, the top 1% of our country reels in 90% of all income gains (Hill). As a nation and a people, we must elect members running for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Research Paper On Ted Bundy Early Life Ted Bundy was born Theodore Robert Cowell on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. His mother was Eleanor Louise Cowell and his real fathers identity has never been discovered. Because of this Bundy lived with his grandparents in Philadelphia for three years with his mother; this was because of the social stigma of birth outside wedlock. People described Bundy's grandfather Samuel Cowell was a bully and bigot who was a giant racist who beat his wife, but for some reason Ted Bundy has said that he respected and clung to his grandfather. This could be a reason why Ted Bundy was so psychotic; I believe he learned some of his behavior from his aggressive and dangerous grandfather. Bundy's mother's sister who was living with them; recalls times where she would wake up from a nap and there would be knives all over the bed and Ted was standing next to the bed just smiling. In 1951 Ted and his mother moved to Tacoma,Washington where Ted's mother met his soon to be step dad Johnny Culpepper Bundy. Johnny and Louise married later the same year and Johnny adopted Ted as well; this is where Ted Bundy got his last name. Ted Bundy stayed distant from Johnny Bundy and when Ted was older, he stated to friends and his girlfriend at the time that Johnny was not his real father and did not really like him. The presidents of the future should understand what power they possess and how to wield it. Senator Sanders is currently attempting to overturn Citizens–United, a "disastrous Supreme Court decision"(Sanders, Bernie) which allows infinite dollars to be syphoned into our electoral politics, causing widespread corruption in the highest levels of our government. By its definition, the refugee experience is one that involves being removed, being excluded, and one in which belonging – to family, community, and country – is always at risk. Thus, the dislocation that refugees experience in their process of migration inevitably influences their sense of home, place, and belonging. Through the process of forced migration, many refugees lose aspects of their identities and attachment to the physical and emotional spaces embedded in their former communities, jobs, skills, language, friends, family, and culture. • 28. The Issue And Effect Of Extra Constitutional Actors On Gun... Throughout the United States the policy process is the same. It starts with extra–constitutional actors, which are political parties, media, public opinion, and interest groups. These actors find a problem or issue and effect policy makers to get it known. These policy makers then use their concerns and create policy. The policy is then implemented by the bureaucracy in some way. The people and these extra–constitutional actors then evaluate this policy. Some may like it and let it be, while others may start the process all over again. According to Smith, "the states share similar political structures and follow the same overall set of rules, but they make different choices" (Smith, 8). This means that all states have a similar policy process, but that they still have different laws. This can be seen in how they create laws on guns. Each state has different gun laws and this is due to the effect of extra–constitutional actors in each state. Extra–constitutional actors affect the policy process in regard to gun laws in each state differently. In this paper, this will be looked at by using the comparative method. According to Smith, the comparative method "uses similarities and differences as the basis for systematic explanation" (Smith, 7). The comparative method will be used by looking at how each extra–constitutional actor has effected gun laws in each state recently and comparing them. From this it should be seen they have all created different gun laws in the state from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If you are drinking and driving you should be taught a lesson even if one state thinks it only takes a week and the other thinks it takes half a year. If your in Virginia and are sitting at home and are bored you can turn on your police scanner and find out what is going on around town. The Lottery Shirley Jackson Analysis The Haunted House of Fiction When "The Lottery" begins, nothing seems unusual about this community, no hint of what is to come, or how heinous an act is about to occur. As they ready themselves for what seems to be a cheerful event, preparing as if to win something valuable, rather than to lose this lottery, eagerness and enthusiasm fill the air. The tradition this community has been following, is overly duteous, more sheep like, illustrating the extent to which people will go to fit in, to be part of a crowd, to feel accepted. He has decades of experience in politics, which is immensely important for someone holding the position of President. During his time in public service he has demonstrated that he is committed, strong, productive, fair, and honest. Sanders relies on his policies and ideas significantly more than flaunting a charming personality to gain support, and he is able to do this because he has always put a lot of consideration into the decisions he makes. Furthermore, he has always been a strong supporter of quality of opportunity, which is the political ideal advocating the view that the assignment of individuals to places in the social hierarchy is determined by some form of competitive process; all members of society are eligible to compete on equal terms. As president, Sanders would take many steps toward improving this aspect of society. He recognizes that currently there is great disparity in the balance of power, and he has consistently fought towards making the U.S.A. a country where everyone is well taken care of and has access to what they need. Scientists use the "immortal cells" of cancer victim Henrietta Lacks to test various diseases and infections. Science, a never ending quest of destruction and salvation, throughout history many historical figures such as Henrietta Lacks, Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage have sacrificed much to feed it's endless hunger. Science is like a great and powerful king that shall never be slain, it forever saves it's people but at the same time causing destruction among the enemy. Henrietta Lacks has had greater adversities in the course of contributions to science (feeding the beast) over Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage. The story of Gage, Mawson, and Lacks are all interesting topics, but the Lacks still faced the most adversity out of the three. Henrietta Lacks lost her life for science, faced great pain during her life, and a slow mental deterioration from knowing with almost all certainty that she would die. Meanwhile, Mawson led an arctic exploration, and somehow survived with his life. Gage had a horrible accident and somehow "fully" recovered from it.
