SCE CERTIFICATION
SCE – EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2002/91/EC
(RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL, AND INSTITUTIONAL BUILDINGS
DL 78 / 2006 ; DL 79 / 2006 ; DL 80 / 2006)
The SCE - Energy Certification is applicable to all Buildings of the tertiary sector with an area exceeding 1000 m2.
In these buildings are included the Administrative Buildings of Industries.
These buildings are required by law, the periodic audits that aim to identify energy consumption in order to be allocated the
corresponding energy rating.
The same audits will also examine the Indoor Air Quality in the buildings in order to contribute to the welfare of the people who
work in it.
In concrete terms, an Energy Audit under the SCE will:
- Assess the energy performance of the Building;
- Assess the indoor air quality that people breathe inside of it;
- Propose improvements resulting in an even better energy performance,
which in practice will translate into energy savings;
- Propose energy reduction measures to provide more welfare for those
working in the building.
The building will get an Energy Certificate which will be expressed in an Energy Class.
Although not obliged to do the same, also Buildings of the tertiary sector with an area less than 1000 m2, are subjected to
issuance of an Energy Certificate under certain circumstances.
LUTCHE Engineering has Qualified Experts under the SCE with the skills to implement these audits and to make proposals for
improvements that can eventually provide greater energy efficiency and better indoor air quality in the building.
SGCIE AUDITS
SGCIE – INTENSIVE ENERGY CONSUMPTION (INDUSTRY AND TRANSPORTS)
The SGCIE - MANAGEMENT SYSTEM INTENSIVE ENERGY CONSUMPTION is
applicable to all industries whose consumption in 2008 amounted to more than
500 toe / year. The SGCIE requires:
- That Industrial Facilities perform periodic Energy Audits that focus on the
conditions of use of energy, promote energy efficiency, include the use of
renewable energy.
- The development and implementation of Energy Rationalization Plans by
establishing agreements with the DGEG that include minimum energy efficiency
goals.
- The implementation of SGCIE is an obligation that arises from the DL71/2008.
However, for a company with consumption less than 500 toe / year, although
there is no such requirement, an energy audit may also prove useful , for surely
that the achieved conclusions will provide the opportunity to do research that
may result on energy saving solutions.
- Also in this area, the DGEG has recognized the LUTCHE technicians the skills to
perform Energy Audit, Energy Rationalization Plans and Implementation and
Progress Reports.

HVAC ENERGY PROJECTS
LUTCHE Engineering and AS Energy Consult AS have gone a significant way on the contribution made to the Certification of
Buildings in Portugal. Each of the companies in their field, has contributed in a realistic and complementary way so that the new
buildings can:
- Incorporate energy-saving equipment;
- Are designed to be energy efficient.
AS Energy Consult designs new buildings with the aim that they can be ranked with the best Energy Classification, providing the
following types of projects:
- HVAC Design and Verification of DL-79/2006 - RSECE - E and IAQ;
- Thermal Design and Verification of DL-80/2006 - RCCTE;
- Building Simulation Consulting;
- HVAC Projects, Ventilation Projects;
- Electricity projects, Lighting projects; Telecom Projects;
- Solar Thermal Energy Projects (AQS Single Family - Multi-Family - Other Buildings);
- Photovoltaic systems;
- Hot Water Production Projects using Biomass;
ESCO - ENERGY MANAGEMENT
