This document analyzes the increased use of narrow-bodied aircraft on long-haul flights. It finds that the North Atlantic market has the biggest opportunities for these aircraft due to liberalization and ETOPS regulations allowing twin-engine planes on extended routes. The Boeing 757-200 is used most frequently as it has relatively low operating costs and fuel efficiency compared to wide-bodied aircraft. Narrow-bodied aircraft are primarily used on dense routes or newly served non-stop routes to expand destination options. While their use is less significant between Europe and the Middle East, the cost efficiency of aircraft like the 737-700 and A319 could enable more frequent use on longer routes if airlines were more aware of the
