Examples:
-What are you thinking about?
-How long have you been running
-Which bag should I buy ?
• Object Questions:
(AW) + AUXILIARY + SUBJ + VERB + ?
We ask about the object of the sentence. Example:
I´m reading a book
What are you reading ?
• Subject Questions: no auxiliary
(AW) + VERB + OBJECT + ?
we ask about the subject. Example:
A hurricane destroyed the city yesterday
WHAT destroyed the city?
Sofia is sick today, isn´t she ?
QUESTION TAG
Example:
• Iñigo doesn´t talk in class, does he?
• You had a sister, didn´t you ?
• She has gone to New York, hasn´t she?
Exceptions :
• Let´s go shopping, shall we?
• I am happy, aren´t I ?
• Sunny day today, isn´t it?
• Shut up, will you ?
QUESTION WORD / IF + SUBJECT + VERB
We always use :
• I want to know…
• I don´t know …
• Can you tell me …
• I wander …
• Do you know …
Examples:
- I want to know where you live
- I don´t know what your name is
- I wonder if she likes chocolate
- Do you know if Laura was paying attention to the teacher?
- Can you tell me if the teacher has corrected the exams ?
