WHEN YOU OPEN THE BOX...
The game box is divided into 9 cartons (1 for each monster). During the game, use
these cartons to pack the sock packets for that monster.

Monster Sock Factory is a multiplication game. The game comes with 3
game plays - Basic, Advanced & Expert. As kids master tables, they can
move up the levels and keep the game exciting.

4. Far away in the land of Dimis live cute little v.
Some monsters one leg and others come with
up to 9 legs!
It gets really cold here and they need warm
socks. You work at the sock factory where you
get orders to pack and ship socks.
If you are the first to ship all 10 sock packets
for any 6 monsters, you win.
So, what are you waiting for?
IN THE SOCK LAND!
Use your storytelling skills here! Tell this story with as much excitement and
emotions as possible. When children are drawn into the story, they will enjoy
the game even more!

5. Next, take out only the 37 order cards and
keep them face down in the center.
Keep the game box nearby. The slots in
it will be used to pack the monster sock
packets.
Who wins?
The first player to pack all sock packets
for any 6 monsters, wins!
Who moves first?
The youngest player makes the first move.
Others move in clockwise direction.
As a parent or teacher, let the kids win a few games. Winning boosts interest in game
and confidence in math!
PREPARE TO START (BASIC GAME-PLAY)
There are 9 different types of
monsters in Dimis. Give each player 10
sock packets for each monster.

6. 16 Socks need to be
packed
Player 1 starts the game by picking
the top card from the stack of order
cards.
This is the order you must ship. If you
draw 16, then you must ship 16 socks
in your turn.
To ship 16 socks, you may ship either
- 8 sock packets for 2 legged monsters
- 4 sock packets for 4 legged monsters
- 2 sock packets for 8 legged monsters
A player can only pack socks for a single monster species during a single turn.
LET’S START
At the bottom of each order card, you can see monsters. This is a hint to the kids.
These are the monsters whose socks you can pack for this order. Once you have
made your move, place the order card at the bottom of the order card pile. It is now
the next player’s turn.

7. 2 socks,
4 socks,
6 socks…. 16 socks
Let’s say that she decides to pack
for the 2-legged monster.
When she picks the first packet,
she says ”2 socks”.
For those new to multiplication, here is a little help to get started. You can
choose any one of the monster’s sock packets to pack.

8. 2 times 8 is 16.
Packed!
Similarly she has the option to pack:
4 sock packets for the 4-legged monster
2 sock packets for the 8-legged monster
She will pick the next packet and add 2 to it. This will take the number of socks to 4.
She will pick the next packet and add 2 to it. This will take the number of socks to 6.
The player will keep adding the packets till she has packed 16 socks.
When she puts all her 8 packets in the box, she says “2 times 8 is 16. Packed!”

9. For early learners, we have kept out numbers with large face value. This will keep
game within reach.
But as they pickup multiplication skill, now is the time to open up the challenge
cards too. These are order cards with larger numbers. They have a blue front. Com-
bine them with rest of the order cards and make the game more challenging. Also
include the special cards like wild card and skip cards. And have fun.
INCREASE THE CHALLENGE (ADVANCED)

10. Keep the stack, face down, next to the stack of order cards.
Player has the option to change the order value using plus-minus card. Place the
plus-minus card next to the opened order card to change the order.
The player will then pack socks for the new order number. Discard the plus-minus
card and order card as you normally would.
After packing, the player will pick another plus-minus card from top of its stack.
Once again, she will keep the card face up in place of the card she just played.
You can get new plus-minus card once you have played them. While
the stack should be kept face down at all times, Keep your plus-minus
cards open.
For even more challenge & fun, we provide you
with Plus-Minus Cards. These cards help the
players to change the order card numbers.
NOW FOR THE BOSS! (EXPERT GAME PLAY)
At the beginning of the game, shuffle the
stack of plus-minus cards.
Give 2 cards from the stack to each player
and keep them face up.

11. + = 50
Let’s say that during one of her turns, a player gets an order to pack 49 socks.
Her best move would be to pack 7 sock packets for the 7-legged monster. But
what if she has already used all the sock packets with 7?
She can use her plus-minus card!
Let’s say she has a ± 1 card. So now she can use it and increase the Order card
from 49 to 50 or decrease it from 49 to 48.
If she increases the order card to 50, she can pack 10 sock packets for the
5-legged monster.
If she decrease it to 48, she can pack 8 sock packets of 6-legged monster or 6
sock packets of 8-legged monster.
For our example we will assume that she chooses to go with the first option.
You may need to guide your kids to make good use of the plus-minus cards.
Ask them to choose that option which helps them pack more socks.
