Create a Solar System Project
1. Solar System Project *STUDENTS* This week in class, we have discussed our solar system and the different planets. The students seemed to really enjoy this section. So I thought it would be a good time for a class project. In this project, the students will be creating their own replica solar system. They can use whatever materials for representing each planet. They main idea is for the students to use their creativity. I really want the students to use their imagination for this project. The main questions to answer when starting this project is: What materials should I use? What are the nine planets? How is each planet different? *Parents* Materials are very flexible just use what is best fitted for each planet. Your child will have a checklist to help keep record of their progress. Each student has 2 weeks to finish this project. We will take time out of everyday to talk about the project and for me to go around and answer any questions the students may have. *PROJECT* Each student will need to have all nine planets and a sun. Using the project based learning in our classroom will benefit the students to experience projects in an organized way and give them a chance to use their minds in a different way. I hope each student enjoys this project and hope all goes well and we can start doing more projects in the classroom.
