The purpose of Sean Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is to inform teens on making better choices for a better and healthier lifestyle. In
the book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, the author gives seven habits and explains each one and how you can apply them to your life. If all
these habits are applied to your life you will be much happier and in order. With these applied in your life you can also find yourself doing good
things for other people, in trouble a lot less, and making better choices for yourself and others. These seven habits that you can apply to your life are,
be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win–win, seek first to understand, then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the
saw.
Habit one, be proactive, is about having a "can do" attitude and not being reactive. Habit one explains what being proactive is and what being
reactive is. Being proactive is about more than taking initiative. It is recognizing that we are responsible for our own choices, and we have the
freedom to choose based on principles and values rather than on moods or conditions. Proactive people choose not to be victims, to be reactive, or to
blame others. Habit one comes first because it is the key to unlocking all the other habits. Being proactive is about taking responsibility and not
blaming others. Applying habit one helps us with being less reactive and more proactive in your life.
In addition, habit two, begin with the end in mind, is about planning ahead and setting goals for yourself. As the author states in the book," Habit 2 is
based on imagination––the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes. It is based on the principle that all things
are created twice." Beginning with the end in mind means to begin each day or task with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and
then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen. It also means developing a clear picture of where you want to go with your
life. The paths you choose now can affect your future forever ,so beginning with the end in mind can help with making better choices for your future.

customers" (page 58). Covey states that the P/PC balance is the essence of effectiveness: "It's the definition and paradigm of effectiveness upon

He goes on to explain that effective, proactive people spend most of their time in Quadrant II. To accomplish this I would take his advice and try to
organize my week on Sundays and try to delegate responsibility with goals in mind not set ways that they have to be done. For the interdependence

control of your life instead of letting someone else take control of it. This Habit is known as Begin with the End in Mind. This helps to make a
plan on how you want tomorrow, next week, and even the next year to go. In this habit, you learn to construct a mission statement to live by. I use
this habit every once in awhile when I need have a lot to do. This habit is also a root habit because it helps plan for your future. Habit 3 is all about
prioritizing. In habit two, we learned to know what we want. This habit helps prioritize what you want and all others can be done later. This habit
uses 4 different time quadrants to show how we all tend to use our time. Quadrant 1 is the procrastinator. The procrastinator puts everything off to the
last minute. This quadrant is usually stressed out and tends to stay up until the sunrises doing work. Quadrant three is the yes man. This person is
always trying to please people. By doing this the person ends up making no one happy because they are breaking their promises. Quadrant 4 is the
worst quadrant to be in. This is the slacker. The slacker spends more time on their phone and playstation rather than actually work. School is the last
thing this person thinks about.

investment and involvement in learning. Persistence is the ability to sustain interest in and attention to short and long term projects. Flexibility is the

In the book, "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey he explains how the world is entirely based on our own perception. In
order to change a situation, we must change ourselves, and in order to change ourselves we have to change our perception. These days,
individuals look for quick solutions. They see successful people, companies, and organizations that have achieved success and wonder how they
can get a hold of their techniques. The problem is these shortcuts that we all look for, hoping to save time and energy and still received the desired

attitude, and always doing the right thing even when no one is looking. We know as individual that we can easily give up on a situation or

Analysis Of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
In reading 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens written by Sean Covey I amazed that this book was actually incredibly amusing and surprisingly
relatable. Most adults when writing books about teens, are completely off the mark about our attitudes and thought processes. However Sean Covey,
remembers very clearly and understands even.With humorous stories about his teenage years and his feelings about those experiences he shows
empathy and sympathy for the teenagers of the world, Covey brings forth his ideas of the seven habits to make an effective teen in an entertaining way.
Filled with rich humor, plentiful examples, both big and small, and various thought provoking questions, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the
fundamental points it brings to light.
There are four things you need to understand before you can even begin to master the seven habits. What are habits? What a paradigm is? What your
center is? How to win the private victory? "Habits are things we do repeatedly. But most of the time we are hardly aware that we have them. They're
on autopilot....Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us. We become what we repeatedly do" (8). Samuel Smiles once
wote:
"Sow a thought, and you reap an act;
Sow an act, and you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, and you reap a character;

When we form a habit, in time it will define us. That is why we need to be careful on what habits we form. "Luckily, you are stronger than your
habits. Therefore you can change them" (8). If we truly work to overcome our habits, we can change them and become better. One major piece of
our habits are paradigms. Paradigms are perceptions, the way you see things around you, and perceptions create limitations for our minds.
"Paradigms are like glasses. When you have incomplete paradigms about yourself or life in general, it's like wearing glasses with the wrong
prescription. That lens affects how you see everything else. As a result, what you see is what you get" (13). These paradigms we have about ourselves

  • 1. 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens Analysis The purpose of Sean Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is to inform teens on making better choices for a better and healthier lifestyle. In the book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, the author gives seven habits and explains each one and how you can apply them to your life. If all these habits are applied to your life you will be much happier and in order. With these applied in your life you can also find yourself doing good things for other people, in trouble a lot less, and making better choices for yourself and others. These seven habits that you can apply to your life are, be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win–win, seek first to understand, then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw. Habit one, be proactive, is about having a "can do" attitude and not being reactive. Habit one explains what being proactive is and what being reactive is. Being proactive is about more than taking initiative. It is recognizing that we are responsible for our own choices, and we have the freedom to choose based on principles and values rather than on moods or conditions. Proactive people choose not to be victims, to be reactive, or to blame others. Habit one comes first because it is the key to unlocking all the other habits. Being proactive is about taking responsibility and not blaming others. Applying habit one helps us with being less reactive and more proactive in your life. In addition, habit two, begin with the end in mind, is about planning ahead and setting goals for yourself. As the author states in the book," Habit 2 is based on imagination––the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes. It is based on the principle that all things are created twice." Beginning with the end in mind means to begin each day or task with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen. It also means developing a clear picture of where you want to go with your life.
