2. Thought Process behind our Ident
We wanted our ident to come across in a puzzle-like fashion
because a convention of a thriller film is mystery and piecing
together clues. We thought that our ident being a puzzle of
some sort would not only be appropriate for our product but
also inform the audience straight away that a thriller film is
going to follow. For the colours we thought that black and
white would be most suitable because again this links in with
not giving too much information away and a sense of mystery,
it can also show the clear contrast between the antagonist
and the protagonist which we thought would work well. The
“Syncopy” ident inspired us and had the aforementioned
elements required for a successful thriller film ident.
3. Ident Idea 1
Switchplay Studios
Our first ident idea, Switchplay Studios is also the ident we are going to use if
we choose to have just the one ident in our title sequence, this is because on
our audience feedback this ident got the majority of the vote by a large
margin. For this ident we want a rubix cube to be completed in the
background and when it has been done, the word “Switchpla” will appear on
the rubix cube before the camera zooms out and a “Y” is revealed to be
holding up the cube, consequently spelling “Switchplay”. We will use the
white side of the rubix cube, and the text will be black for the reasons
mentioned in the slide before. The only sound present will be the rubix cube
being solved and a keyboard typing noise as the letters appear on screen
A very, very rough idea of what I
was attempting to describe
4. CodeCrack Productions
Ident Idea 2
This ident idea is not our first choice however if we decide for some reason or
another that we are going to have two idents we will use this one. First of all it is
not our first choice ident because of two main reasons, these reasons are it
would be quite difficult to make and we think we could focus our time as a
group somewhere else to make our film more successful, it also received less
votes from the audience feedback meaning it may simply not be as good as an
idea as the Switchplay Studios one. What the ident idea actual is, is very similar
to our first idea, however the letters of “CodeCrack” would be on the screen
straight away, and instead of a rubix cube being solved it would be a 9 piece
puzzle, similar to those found in a childs goody bag at a party. Again, because
it’s a puzzle it fits the conventions of a thriller, we would also, like the first
ident, use a black and white colour scheme
