2. Our third TPM and second LTTA meeting took place in Faros of Portugal at High
School twit the following participants: 1st Lyceum of Ierapetra, Greece; Gymnasio
Kokkinochorion, Cyprus; Bundesgymnasium Dornbirn, Austria; Agrupamento de
Escolas Pinheiro e Rosa, Portugal; IES Las Veredillas, Tenerife, Spain
The development of student's personality and successful social integration and life skills
will ensure the smooth transition from school life to real life situations.
Conditions that allow the student to develop his personality with strong self-perception,
emotional stability, critical and dialectical skill and positive attitude to cooperation self-
motivated personality and a responsible, democratic and free, with social and humanitari-
an principles, without religious and cultural prejudices.
At the same time the teachers have the duty to approach school learning to a fast chang-
ing technologically based market, so the students will develop a new awareness of know-
how and skills necessary to find an employment in areas that might have been struck by
the economic crisis.
They need to acquire the necessary skills that will ensure their employment as soon as
possible after graduation or the life skills necessary to excel in Universities and also help
in the long run, to avoid excluding them for a long period of time from the labor market. It
is also essential to cope with unforeseen changes and become happy workers throughout
their active life.
3. Faro (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈfaɾu] ) is
a municipality and bishopric, the southern-
most city and seat of the district of the same
name, in the Algarve region of south-
ern Portugal.With a population of 64,560 in-
habitants in 2011.The municipality of Faro is
divided into two distinct areas, the coastline,
part of the Parque Natural da Ria Formo-
sa (Nature Park of Ria Forma ) and
the barrocal, characterized by hills and val-
leys, populated with typical Algarvan vegeta-
tion

tiles, and sequestered little squares where
you might discover solitary restaurants.
4. The first official day, 22/04/2018 of the
third meeting took place at the beautiful
city of Faro.
Guided tour around the city by the Portu-
guese students of tourism, visited the Old
Quarters, the Cathedral and the shopping
area.

8. We travelled by the city bus to the beach and we had lunch at the beach.
The students had the experience of canoeing in Ria Formosa!

this Natural Park while canoeing
through the channels and marshes
where you'll find an enormous abun-
dance of wildlife.
The students discover the wildlife. We
learned about the history and local eco-
nomic activities one of the most important
protected areas in the Algarve.
10. The second day of the meeting at Faro
took place at the school with a warm
welcome from the Headmaster. We
had also the presentations of the pro-
ject. We continued the third day the
same.
20. On the 4th day, the 25th of April was a pu-
plic holiday, the Freedom Day when Portu-
gal got it ’ s freedom from the dictatorships.
We visited by bus the most interesting and
touristic places of the Algarve.

24. On the 5th day we had a guided
tour of The Roman Ruins of
Mireu (Portuguese:
Ruinas Romanas de Milreu) is an
important Roman villa rusti-
ca located in the civil par-
ish of Estói in the municipality
of Faro, in the Portuguese Algarve,
classified as a Monumento Nacion-
al (National Monument).

26. Visited the factory the tour leader was friendly,
enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the his-
tory and processing of cork which is a natural
resource and just as important environmentally
friendly product.
She explained the harvesting of cork and the
different types of cork quality. We then toured
the factory and saw first hand the levels of pro-
cessing and the skills of the workforce.
