1. Shot 5
This is an Extreme Close Up of our
performers mouth. We decided to
use this shot in order to present a
variation of camera angles. We were
able to show our skills using Mac
software through being able to
synchronise the movement of our
characters mouth with the lyrics of
the song. We got this idea from other
music video’s that we researched on
the internet as we thought it gave off
an effective appearence.
2. Shot 6 Here our character is filmed in a
Tracking Long Shot as she walks
through the busy streets of
Manchester. This is again to show
how she is individual to those
around her but also the start of
her busking journey on this
particular night. We used many
Long Shots from different angles
and montaged them together to
create the effect that she was
making her way through the
streets. Her clothes help her stand
out from the crowed so we can
easily identify her ask the busker.
3. Shot 7 In our video we also used Green
Screen technology as we wanted
to create an edgy effect where
the words our character was
singing appeared next to her. We
filmed her in both Mid Shot and
Close Up angles miming the lyrics
and later used the Mac
Computer Software to
experiment with different
backgrounds, word fonts and
colours. We then decided to use
a plain black background and
brightly coloured Font for our
final product. The words were
individually made and then
placed in time with the lyrics.
4. Shot 8
In between our montage shots
we used Establishing Shots of
speeded up cars to reinforce the
“life in the city” theme and to
break up the constant focus on
our character. When the clips are
speeded up the lights from the
cars create a dramatic and urban
city effect.
5. Shot 11
In this shot we purposely filmed our
character in Close Up counting
money. This was to emphasise that
she was making money from her
busking as the final shot shows her
giving her earnings to a homeless
person living on the streets.
We decided to make this the main
story line as we wanted our
character to seem different to your
average person. We wanted to her
‘happy go lucky’ personality and
how she puts others before herself
to come across in our filming .
6. Shot 12
In one of our final shots we
changed the location of our
filming to and urban skate park in
Manchester City Centre and
filmed our character in Long Shot
and Close Up. She performed
different dance moves and
mimed lyrics whilst skaters
moved behind her to give our
filming more realistic effect.
