2. The primary strategy I used to attract the audience was the colour scheme of the
magazine. This is because bright colours are the most eye catching and can have
an emotional effect on a person. The colour scheme of my magazine are Light
Blue, Crimson Red and White. I chose these colours as they were the most
popular colours in a questionnaire and that the colours used have contrasting
connotations. For example the colour red has connotation of anger whereas light
blue and white have connotations of peace and serenity. This causes a conflict in
emotions and grabs the audience's attention as conflict is knows to do so.
3. The main image used on the cover of the magazine is also a way of grabbing the
audience's attention. The image is of a girl in a black jumper with her arms resting
on her knees and her facial expression suggests she is in a bad mood. The
models foul mood adds to the theme of rock as it is most commonly associated
with bad attitudes. It also differentiates the magazine from other music magazines
as most magazines use main images with happy models.
4. The model also attracts the audience as she creates gives gives the magazine a
calm and relaxed atmosphere. This is because she comes across as care free
and relaxed. Her facial expression and posture show she is comfortable and
shows she is not stressed eliminations negative vibes from the magazine.
Also, the masthead reinforces this as it too is simplistic and is the colour white
which has connotations of purity and tranquility. The relaxed mood the magazine
creates attracts audiences as it shows it is easy to read and doesn't require much
effort to enjoy it.
