Washington D.C is the capital of the United States and houses many important government buildings and national monuments. Some of the major landmarks include the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, as well as the gravesite of John F. Kennedy. Important government buildings are the White House, Capitol Building, and the Smithsonian Institution museums which showcase U.S. history and accomplishments.
