1. Which assessment style do you prefer? Which style do you think is the most useful
inside a classroom.
2. Why is it important to assess students reading, writing, and spelling abilities?
3. Say you had an ELL student in your classroom that would speak english, but was
unable to read or write in english. How would you approach this situation?
4. What are the pros and cons of standardized testing? How can you incorporate
standardized testing material without letting it over take all of your instructional time?
5. What are the 3 different reading levels for students? What purpose does each level
serve?
6. What are the 3 stages of learning to read and write? Describe the abilities of the
student at each stage.
7. What is the purpose of the morning message? How you alter a morning message
depending on grade level?
8. Which instructional practice would you implement in your classroom? Why?
9. What are high frequency words? What purpose do they serve?
10. What are the 5 steps in the writing process?
My one question I have is how can we apply this knowledge to older students who might
not be on par with their peers?
