4. Let’s talk Tiger Ties!
Tiger Ties is a mentorship program created
specifically for students with College of
Business majors or minors.
The mentors within our program are Clemson
graduates who work in business fields.
5. Who are the Leaders?
All partnerships within Tiger Ties will be assigned a Team Leader.
This will be your go-to person for questions, concerns, etc.
6. Within Tiger Ties, you will be assigned a mentor to
help guide you throughout college towards your
ultimate goals after graduation.
Don’t know what your goals are yet? Your mentor
can also help you with that!

7. Who are the Mentors?
• Clemson graduates
• Professionals in business fields
– They know what you are going though!
• At least 3 years of experience
• Wide variety of industries
– Accounting, Government, Law, Healthcare, Research, Sales,
HR, etc.
• Local, nationwide, outside U.S.
8. Who are the Mentees?
• Clemson College of Business undergrads who
desire to learn and who believe they can benefit
from the mentoring relationship
• Business Majors AND Minors
• All grade levels are welcome!
– Seniors, it’s not too late
– Freshmen, it’s not too early
9. What is required?
• Submit an application on CLEMSON.CHRONUS.COM
• Attend mandatory orientation
– Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 6:00-8:00 pm - Hunter
Auditorium
• Attend each semester’s Tiger Ties Reception
• Participate in mentee events throughout the semester
• “Meet” at least one time per month with your mentor
– Tiger Ties is what you make it!
10. • One-on-one meetings with your mentor
• Communicate on a regular basis
– Be creative!
• Set goals together. Work towards those goals together.
• Possible shadowing opportunities, attending events or
meetings together, etc.
• Mutual respect and honoring of commitments made
between mentor and mentee

11. • Contact with top executives/graduates
• Increased confidence in the workforce environment
• Set, work toward, and achieve goals
• Receive advice from experienced professionals
• Development of a professional network
• Mentors = Role models and sounding board
Why should I join?
Remember, your mentor’s job is NOT to give or find you a job!
12. How do I find a Mentor?
STEP 1: Apply at CLEMSON.CHRONUS.COM by September 12th
STEP 2: Attend orientation on September 13th from 6:00-8:00pm –
Location will be sent to you!
STEP 3: Log into your Tiger Ties account on September 14th at noon and
request the mentor of your choice. Match scores are based on:
– Industries of interest
– Skills and competencies desired in a mentor
– Location of mentor
– Class level of student
STEP 4: If a mentor denies your request, you have until September 29rd to
request another mentor.
