Illustration Paragraph
So, let 's suppose that you have done some brainstorming to develop your thesis. What else should
you keep in mind as you begin to create paragraphs? Every paragraph in a paper should be
Unified–All of the sentences in a single paragraph should be related to a single controlling idea
(often expressed in the topic sentence of the paragraph).
Clearly related to the thesis–The sentences should all refer to the central idea, or thesis, of the paper
(Rosen and Behrens 119).
Coherent–The sentences should be arranged in a logical manner and should follow a definite plan
for development (Rosen and Behrens 119).
Well–developed–Every idea discussed in the paragraph should be adequately explained and
supported through evidence and details...show more content...
Step 4. Explain the example(s)
The next movement in paragraph development is an explanation of each example and its relevance
to the topic sentence and rationale that were stated at the beginning of the paragraph. This
explanation shows readers why you chose to use this/or these particular examples as evidence to
support the major claim, or focus, in your paragraph.
Continue the pattern of giving examples and explaining them until all points/examples that the
writer deems necessary have been made and explained. NONE of your examples should be left
unexplained. You might be able to explain the relationship between the example and the topic
sentence in the same sentence which introduced the example. More often, however, you will need to
explain that relationship in a separate sentence. Look at these explanations for the two examples in
the slave spirituals paragraph:
Model explanation for example A– When slaves sang this song, they could have been speaking of
their departure from this life and their arrival in heaven; however, they also could have been
describing their plans to leave the South and run, not to Jesus, but to the North.
Model explanation for example B–[The relationship between example B and the main idea of the
paragraph 's controlling idea is clear enough without adding another sentence to

Bear Hunt Illustration
The children's book We're Going on a Bear Hunt utilises the switching between black and white
illustrations and full colour effectively. The pages of the story that are in black and white occur
when the family meet an obstacle, such as 'long wavy grass', and once they have overcome said
obstacle the illustration returns to colour. It repeats in this manner throughout the picture books
entirety. In doing this, the illustrator has emphasised the texts gloominess and foreboding of what the
family will have to do ('we have to go through it').
The way this text has been structured by combining the aperture, exposition and inciting moment.
The first sentence "We're going on a bear hunt" tells the reader what the story is going to entail
whilst giving away what future conflict they could be if the family were to find a bear. The
exposition is also viewed here as the reader, with the illustrations help, knows that 'we' (the family)
are who is involved and it is a 'beautiful day' in the country. Conflict rises steadily on every second
page revealing a new hurdle the family has to conquer (mud, lake etc) but is resolved immediately
until the climax when the big bear is found and is not happy to see them. As the...show more

For example, 'splash splosh', 'squelch' 'squerch' and 'hooo wooo', were utilised to engage the
audience's mind with the motions of wading through a river, trudging their way through mud and
the sounds of a snow storm. This method is more effective at engaging than simply stating 'the
mud was squishy' or 'the river was wet'. On a whole, the text has a good sense of rhythm and
musicality. Even though the sentences are few and short, the receptiveness and use onomatopoeic
words helps the story flow. "The sounds of words increase the appeal and strength of a story" (3)
which is seen to be true in this particular picture

Essay about Digital Art Technology
Digital Art Technology
Technology is constantly growing and changing our ways of living. It makes life easier at times,
and more interesting too. When one would think of art in the past, usually computers and
technology did not come to mind. Now because of modern technology, the digital age is uncovering
vast ways to create amazing works of art through computer tools and software. Art is now digitally
created and can appear unbelievable to the modern eye.
Digital art technology is in some ways, a form of art that can be constructed on a computer based
template and still portray an artistГ•s rendition but in a mechanical manner. Г’As early as 1912, the
futurists planned moving sculptures driven by machine, in which the...show more content...
Photoshop was a great new technology and contributor for digital art at that time.
Г’Today, computers are found in almost every area of art, though with varying degrees of
success, acceptance, and originality.Г“ (57, Wolf) Classical art is obviously the most widespread
acceptable form of art. Acceptable meaning known; People around the world could tell you
theyГ•ve heard of Michelangelo or Picasso. Classical art and digital art have certain similarities,
but far more differences. Both forms of art begin with the artistГ•s view of an idea or concept.
They both have creative attributes and qualities that are controlled by the artist and viewed by an
audience. Evidently, there is different media used in each form. Where classical artist may use a
paintbrush and a canvas to create a painting, a digital artist would use software like Photoshop
though a computer to create an image. However now, artists can even imitate media like watercolor,
charcoal, markers, and even oil pastels with certain software digitally.
There are two kinds of computer based art that uses the computer as a tool for creating the work.
The two kinds are computer–assisted art and computer–created art. Г’In computer–assisted art, an
application like a paintbox or music program is used in creation of a work. Computer–created art
begins with an algorithm written by the artist, which when run, produces a work, usually with some
element of randomness involved so that

Illustration: Make A Differences
Illustration: Make a Difference One of the most important things I can do to give back to my
community is mentor to the upcoming freshmen at my local college. Perhaps the best way to
achieve this is to make an informative video. This video would show the students all of the exciting
aspects of campus life and inform them of the opportunities that can arise after graduation. One of
the most challenging issues I faced when beginning college was not knowing what I wanted to do
with my life after the fact. After researching available degree plans and jobs, I decided that a career
in administration would be the best option for me. I believe that if students are closely advised from
the beginning, they will have higher rates of success and waste less time on frivolous classes while
they try to figure themselves out. First time college students sometimes face difficulties as they
transition from the structured life of high...show more content...
Most students do not think about the cost of college, as they either have their parents or a
scholarship to help them pay. For other students though, they have the option to pay out of pocket or
get a loan to assist them. Research shows "The average student debt for a 4–year institution in
Arkansas is $25,344" (Ticas). "Holy cow!" (K. Flachmann and M. Flachmann 162). All in all, I
think that an educational video about college would prove to be beneficial for an incoming college
freshman class. The video would address the aspects of campus life and show the opportunities
available after graduation. Hopefully this video would provide adequate insight into the benefits of
obtaining a degree and help the students to be less intimidated by the college experience. With most
of the business world requiring a college education, it is more essential than ever that our young
people follow through with college and better themselves on the

Illustration As An Illustration
1.What is illustration?
It's very difficult to give a precise definition to the term " illustration " . Some people think of the
illustrated manuals from Ikea , while someone else thinks about the illustrated children's book by
Chris Haughton.
Illustration is a unique art form that is not defined by the media , but by its context. Illustrations
bring life into concepts and stories.
Whether they are created digitally or manually , illustrations can be both a masterful work of art as a
practical, business apply.
2.Where do Illustrators work?
Images and illustrations are all around us. The most obvious images are book covers , t–shirts , and
so on but in addition , you also have the more subtle artworks as decorative items and lighting.

This type of illustrator creates illustrations for magazines and newspapers.
These illustrations are often briefed by an art director . Usually these contracts have also a very short
deadline, maybe even several days because magazines and newspapers often appear weekly or
monthly. The size can vary from a few small doodles to a greatillustration spread across a double
page .
2.Publishing
Book publishing – in any form or medium whatsoever – is a major source of income for illustrators.
The main categories are : fiction, non –fiction, educational children's books , comic books and
graphic novels and finally youth literature. For these types of assignments illustrators usually get a
longer period to come to a final product.
3.Design & Advertising
Images for design & advertising are usually commissioned through an agency on behalf of an end
client.
Corporate clients may require images for a whole range of contexts that need to perform varied
functions across print and digital platforms. This can include logo's, website's, brochures,
newsletters, direct mail to potential customers, annuel reports and in –house promotional material

What Is Self Worth Essay
Your self worth is more important than you think, many people don't realize that it is an important
asset to your everyday life. Self–worth, self–esteem, and self–respect are the three things that many
people struggle with. No matter how ugly people can be you have to keep in mind you are as
worthy as anybody else. People criticize one another without realizing the damage that is done to
their piers. I will be showing you some steps that have helped me gain respect for myself. Step 1
is to never compare yourself to anybody else and to love yourself . Step 2 is to surround yourself
with supportive people. Step 3 is to always talk positive about yourself. Step 1 is to never
compare yourself to anybody else to love yourself . Its natural for us to compare ourselves to
others, but it doesn't improve our status, make us a better person, or secure our happiness. In
many cases its does the opposite by making us feel bad about ourselves. For example, i used to
compare myself to other people who were way prettier and thinner than me. Comparing myself to
them wasn't helping me at all it was just bringing myself esteem down, building more of my
insecurities up, just making me be so negative. But i noticed by doing that it wasn't helping me feel
any better about myself it was just doing the opposite. What helped me stop was that i started to
learn how to love my self just the way I am, i realized that every human has their own insecurities.
Loving yourself is very important, do not

Surrealism Essay
Surrealism
Surrealism was one of the most influential artistic movements of the 20th Century. AndrГ© Breton
consolidated Surrealism as a movement in the early 1920s, trying to achieve the "total liberation of
the mind and of all that resembles it[1]" through innovative and varied ideas. Surrealism deeply
influenced the world in the era between the two world wars and played a big role in the diffusion and
adoption of psychology worldwide. Surrealism faded after World War II, but its revolutionary genius
has influenced every artistic movement ever since.
It is hard to define and give shape to Surrealism. Surrealism and abstract art have similar origins, "but
they diverge on their interpretation of what those origins mean to the...show more content...
Nonetheless, one cannot truly comprehend Surrealism without delving further into the Surrealist
Movement itself.
AndrГ© Breton ran the Surrealist Movement with impressive discipline and rigidity, making an
interesting contrast between what the Surrealists preached and the management style of its leader.
An interesting story, for example, tells how Salvador DalГ, one of the most prominent members of
the Surrealist movement, attended a New York costume party dressed up as Charles Lindbergh's
son, who had been recently kidnapped and murdered. New York's society did not take the statement
well and eventually made DalГ apologize for his behavior. Breton, however, almost dismissed him
from Movement because he claimed that "no one should excuse himself for a Surrealist act[6]." This
anecdote demonstrates the seriousness of Breton and his Movement towards its final objective:
revolution and the slashing of society's conventions in the interest of a subconscious reality.
At the beginning, the Surrealist Movement had political ties to the Communist party and was
determined to make a revolution. With time, however, the group dropped its direct ties to
communism and concentrated in spreading their own doctrine. The Surrealist Movement

In many cases its does the opposite by making us feel bad about ourselves. For example, i used to compare myself to other people who were way prettier and thinner than me. New York's society did not take the statement well and eventually made DalГ apologize for his behavior. Breton, however, almost dismissed him from Movement because he claimed that "no one should excuse himself for a Surrealist act[6]." This anecdote demonstrates the seriousness of Breton and his Movement towards its final objective: revolution and the slashing of society's conventions in the interest of a subconscious reality. At the beginning, the Surrealist Movement had political ties to the Communist party and was determined to make a revolution. With time, however, the group dropped its direct ties to communism and concentrated in spreading their own doctrine. The Surrealist Movement Get more content on HelpWriting.net
