We-Think
Mass innovation has taken over from mass production. Lots of people now focus
on creativity and gaining recognition for what they have created. Sites like
YouTube are an example of mass innovation as anyone can upload any content
and get feedback from viewers, good or bad. YouTube also gives people the
democratic voice as they have the freedom to voice their response to different
videos (in the comments) and also are free to express their views in videos they
upload.
Sites like YouTube are, however, harder to control. This can lead to people being
more open to abuse and invasions of privacy. iCloud is another example of a site
which was made to make it simpler for people to store files, yet in 2014 there
was a hack and it meant that lots of people’s private images were released onto
2. the internet. This was a massive invasion of the peoples’ privacy.
Sites such as Facebook and Twitter are sites that were made as a new way for
people to socialise online.
These sites allow millions of people fro around the world to communicate with
each other. It has also massively helped to further careers of celebrities (people
in different countries can become aware of celebrities from another country) and
also create many online friendships.
A downside to these sites the potential for hackers to get hold of private
information and the problem with people accidently showing locations and
personal information.
These sites also leave the users more open to abuse as it can give people
anonymity and confidence to say horrible things. There is also issues with cyber
bullying which occurs often.
