This is an image of an Audio chain. This is a main
piece of equipment for sound due to everything
being connected to one another to produce sound.
The processor is where everything connects too
and then has several leads and other pieces of
equipment e.g. Mixer, Amplifier, Speakers. The
speakers attached are stack speakers with the top
ones having a high frequency driver, the middle
ones having mid frequency driver and the lower
ones are sub-woofers.

noise more. Youget active andpassive speakers.An
active speakerisa speakerwhichhasa built-inamplifier
and a passive speakerwill use acable toattach to an
amplifier.The active speakerwon’tneedaspeakercable
because the output it’sreceivingisn’tamplifiedbya
separate amplifier.
A dynamicmicrophone islesssensitiveandcanbe
usedon a highvolume.Theyare typicallyusedfor
all applications.A condensermicrophoneisthe
mostcommon microphone usedinstudios.They
have a greaterfrequencyandreproduce the
“speed”of an instrumentorvoice.Theyhave a
louderoutput,butare a lotmore sensitive tolouder
sounds.
DI boxesare usedto turnan unbalancedsignal intoa
balancedsignal. Thismeansthattheydon’tget
interference e.g.backgroundnoises. There are 3 main
signal levels;line(highest),instrument(middle),mic
(lowest).The DIbox can take a highsignal downtothe
lowsignal tomake sure it’sthe rightlevel goingintothe
desk.Italso convertsa jackin a XLR cable.
