distributed weekly ever since, making it the longest music
magazine to be published. It was initially published in a non-
glossy tabloid format on standard newsprint.

4. Vibe magazine was launched in 1993 by editor, Quincy Jones, in
partnership with Time Inc. In summer 2009, InterMedia Partners
purchased Vibe magazine.
The magazine is issued quarterly with double covers and mostly
features R&B and hip-hop music artists, actors and other entertainers.
The magazine's target demographic is mainly
young, urban followers of hip-hop culture.

The magazine was originally called ‘Cue’ (cueing a record), however, the name was
changed to ‘Q’ so that it would not be mistaken for a snooker magazine, as well as
making the magazine more noticeable on newsstands, due to the single-letter title.
