1. Skills development and Trailer analysis
The trailer we produced was based on and imitated from the trailer
from “This is 40” distributed and produced in 2012 and directed by
Judd Apatow.
2. The film
The original film is an American spin-off comedy with the tag line, „The “sort of”
spin off to Knocked up‟ (Also produced by Judd Apatow in 2007).
The film follows the lives of middle-aged married couple Pete and Debbie as
they each turn 40, with their jobs and daughters adding stress to their
relationship

3. Our interpretation
Our interpretation of the film consisted of us following
screen shots off a laminated page, taken in the sequence
of the trailer. The initial trailer consisted of around 30
shots, with non diegetic and diegetic sound included to
create backing music and dialogue. Because the film is
supposed to be based on a real life comedy, the trailer did
not include a lot of editing. We filmed the entire trailer
within two days and edited for one.
4. How I feel this will help me with my trailer
The trailer we created gave me an insight to the time
consumed during the making, and how long it should
initially take to create and produce. It also conveys the non
linear editing I should include, and how I should sequence
and vary the shots I include.
