6. I. MY FATHER'S HOUSE IS A BODY
A. Not an organization, an ORGANISM!
1. Ephesians 1:22-23 And He put all things
under His feet, and gave Him to be head
over all things to the church, 23 which is His
body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
2. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 For as the body is
one and has many members, but all the
members of that one body, being many, are
one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one
Spirit we were all baptized into one body--
whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or
free--and have all been made to drink into
one Spirit.
7. I. MY FATHER'S HOUSE IS A BODY
B. We ARE a body, not simply like one.
1. No longer simply a group of people who believe
alike.
2. . . . who work toward a common goal.
3. . . . who worship according to a similar pattern.
C. We define OURSELVES by how we relate to one
another.
1. Ephesians 5:29 No one ever hated his own flesh,
but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord
does the church.
2. So long as we consider each other a part of a body,
there is OWNERSHIP. We are part of one another.
It hurts to lose a part.
3. We value each part and each limb of our body, so
also Christ's.
4. 1 Corinthians 12:27 1 Now you are the body of
Christ, and members individually.

A. Closer than blood relations - Matthew 12:47-
50 Then one said to Him, "Look, Your mother
and Your brothers are standing outside,
seeking to speak with You." 48 But He
answered and said to the one who told Him,
"Who is My mother and who are My
brothers?" 49 And He stretched out His hand
toward His disciples and said, "Here are My
mother and My brothers! 50 For whoever does
the will of My Father in heaven is My brother
and sister and mother.”

12. IS IT YOUR FATHER’S HOUSE?
A. CHRISTIANS ARE THE HOUSE OF CHRIST -
Hebrews 3:6 but Christ as a Son over His own
house, whose house we are if we hold fast the
confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to
the end.
B. GOD’S HOUSE IS THE CHURCH - 1 Timothy
3:15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may
know how you ought to conduct yourself in the
house of God, which is the church of the living
God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
C. GOD’S HOUSE WILL ULTIMATELY BE IN HEAVEN -
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly
house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building
from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in
the heavens.
13. IS IT YOUR FATHER’S HOUSE?
D. A PLACE IS PREPARED FOR US IN HIS HOUSE
- John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled;
you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My
Father's house are many mansions; if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a
place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again and receive you to
Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
