I John 4:1-6 tests for christians 3 - the test of false teaching. Bluffing your way. Do you confess the Son? Do you listen to the Son? Do you obey the Son? Do you pass the test?
2. 1 John 4:1-6 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but
test the spirits, whether they are of God; because
many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of
God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that
Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And
this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have
heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome
them, because He who is in you is greater than he who
is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they
speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We
are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is
not of God does not hear us. By this we know the
spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or
figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears
good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good
tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear
good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit
is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by
their fruits you will know them.

be that whoever will not hear My words, which He
speaks in My name, I will require it of him. 20 But the
prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name,
which I have not commanded him to speak, or who
speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall
die.' 21 And if you say in your heart, 'How shall we
know the word which the LORD has not spoken?'--
22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD,
