This document contains a sermon about making a difference like the apostle Paul. It discusses serving others, being adaptable, doing all things for the gospel, and avoiding shortcuts. The sermon uses examples from the life of Paul and others to encourage Christians to live selflessly and spread the gospel message to influence people and make a lasting difference through their faith.
3. INTRODUCTION
A. One of the saddest
things is to live life
and die without
making a difference.
B. The apostle Paul made a big difference
by his life and we can learn from him
how we can make a difference also
He Made A
Difference
4. I. SERVE OTHERS
A. (1 Cor 9:19) For though I am free from
all men, I have made myself a servant
to all, that I might win the more;
B. (Phil 2:3-4) Let nothing be done
through selfish ambition or conceit,
but in lowliness of mind let each
esteem others better than himself. {4}
Let each of you look out not only
for his own interests, but also for
the interests of others.

5. II. BE ADAPTABLE
A. (1 Cor 9:20-22) and to the Jews I became as a
Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are
under the law, as under the law, that I might
win those who are under the law; {21} to those
who are without law, as without law (not being
without law toward God, but under law toward
Christ), that I might win those who are without
law; {22} to the weak I became as weak, that I
might win the weak. I have become all things to
all men, that I might by all means save some.
B. (James 3:17) But the wisdom that is from
above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality and without hypocrisy.

6. III. DO ALL FOR THE GOSPEL
A.(1 Cor 9:23) Now this I do for the gospel's
sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
B.(Phil 1:12-14) But I want you to know,
brethren, that the things which happened
to me have actually turned out for the
furtherance of the gospel, {13} so that it
has become evident to the whole palace
guard, and to all the rest, that my chains
are in Christ; {14} and most of the
brethren in the Lord, having become
confident by my chains, are much more
bold to speak the word without fear.
7. FACE TO FACE
I had walked life's path with an easy tread,
Had followed where comfort and pleasure led;
And then by chance in a quiet place –
I met my Master face to face.
With station and rank and wealth for goal,
Much thought for body but none for soul,
I had entered to win this life's mad race –
When I met my Master face to face.
I had built my castles, reared them high,
Till their towers pierced the blue of the sky;
I had sworn to rule with an iron mace –
When I met my Master face to face.
8. I met Him and knew Him, and blushed to see,
That His eyes full of sorrow were fixed on me;
And I faltered, and fell at His feet that day,
While my castles vanished and melted away.
Melted and vanished; and in their place,
I saw naught else but my Master's face;
And I cried aloud: "Oh, make me meet,
To follow the marks of Thy wounded feet.“
My thought is now for the souls of men;
I have lost my life to find it again
Ever since alone in that holy place,
My Master and I stood face to face.
9. IV. NO SHORT CUTS
A.(1 Cor 9:24-25) Do you not know that those who
run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?
Run in such a way that you may obtain it. {25} And
everyone who competes for the prize is temperate
in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable
crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
B.(John 10:1-3) "Most assuredly, I say to you, he
who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but
climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and
a robber. {2} "But he who enters by the door is the
shepherd of the sheep. {3} "To him the doorkeeper
opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls
his own sheep by name and leads them out.
