1 Peter 2 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him (excellence; virtue) Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light: We show forth God's Character when we live our lives God's Way . He blesses us as His dear children .
1 Peter 3:10-12 (KJV) 10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
Is there anyone here who would say, "No, I want to hate living; I want every day to be miserable?" Many people do hate their lives; they dread every day when they wake up in the morning. But we don't have to live that way; We can love life and enjoy glorious days.
Let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Examine your words; are they helpful or hurtful? Are they always meant to bless, or do you sometimes use words as weapons? If we use our words only to bless, then God will bless us with a good life and beautiful days.
Words should always be used to encourage , never to discourage. The children of Israel had reached The Promised Land. Moses sent 12 spies to spy out the land, and they returned with conflicting reports .
Numbers 13 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report …
The ten spies who came back from Canaan saying, "We can't; we're too little." Died in the wilderness. Everyone who believed them died in the wilderness. Of all the men alive when they spied out the land of Canaan, only Joshua and Caleb Entered the Promised Land .
Words should always be used to encourage, never to discourage. Blessing and cursing should never come from the same mouth. James 3:10 Psalms 109 17 As he loved cursing (abuse or put down) , so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. 18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
Proverbs 25 11-12 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. Correction is a blessing When it is offered with goodwill and a kind spirit, And received gratefully with obedience .
Words have power ! As we choose our words, we choose our lives . Deuteronomy 30 19 I call Heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: We choose abundant life and blessing every time we live it God's Way . We choose to be dead while we live every time we do it our own way .
