3. STATE DEPARTMENT VISIT:
A representative from the State Department will be
visiting the school today at 10:35am. She will provide
information on careers, internships and fellowships in
the State Department. This is a great opportunity for
seniors to learn about the possibilities for working
with the federal government.

4. UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY:
The Academy is offering a fast-paced, six-day
experience called Summer Seminar for high achievers
who have completed their junior year in high school.
Summer Seminar teaches you about life at the Naval
Academy.
Applications are now open and will close on March 31
st . See Ms. Dolan or Mr. Fong for details.
5. WEST POINT ACADEMY:
Hallie Pound, a graduate of Sacred Hearts and a cadet
at US Military Academy-West Point, will visit us on
Monday, March 20 th , at 9:10am.

6. JUNIORS:
Interested in Engineering? The University of Hawaii’s
College of Engineering is offering a 6 week program to
high school juniors to work hands-on in their research
laboratories.
Interns will also participate in development workshops
and group activities.

7. UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND:
The University is having an Admissions Reception on
Saturday, March 18 th , at the Ala Moana Hotel. It will
feature faculty and guest speakers from their campus.
Open to grade levels 9-12.
This is good for those already admitted and for those
who are thinking about applying in the future.
8. COLLEGE VISITS:
4/10 – Portland State University
4/11 – Colorado State University-Pueblo
Open to grades 10-12. Sign-up on Naviance, under
“College” tab; and sign-up at least one day before
visit. Get permission form signed by your teacher.

9. CHEERLEADING:
Tryouts for grades 7-12 will be held during the first
two weeks of April. No experience necessary.

10. ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVE:
Our annual blood drive will be held on Tuesday, March
28 th . This is open to 16 & 17 year olds, staff and
parents.

by her room (A320) to sign-up.

11. SHOP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION:
Sacred Hearts is once again participating in this
annual statewide 6-week program, which will run
through March 28 th , at all Foodland and Sack-n-
Save stores.

12. LOST & FOUND:
Please stop by the HS Office if you have lost any
items such as: lunch boxes, school sweaters, non-
school clothing, water bottles and flasks, eye-glasses,
etc.
